Ok, he just came back from a museum tour and usually museums provide audio guides, which explains the tape recorder. The "Fossils...dah dah dah" is probably the audio guide introducing Fossils as the next exhibit and the dah dah dah is some catchy theme music. The reason why hes repeating it cuz its stuck in his head or it's addicting. Does this clear it up for you?
