I am not a Romney fan, but live in Switzerland. If he reported the account like I do it is perfectly legal. The interesting thing about this spot is that it seems to insinuate that he did something illegal. As an American abroad I take a bit of offense. I pay my taxes in the US but I get no representation other than the President. Am I an cheat? I don't think I am, but I do feel like I am treated extremely poorly because I have decided to spend some time seeing the rest of the world.
As a conservative I do not object to low taxes, but I must object to offshore accounts that permit the wealthy to avoid taxes. Also important is that the money hidden in these accounts could be used to bolster community banks instead of benefiting foreign countries. The idea that republicans would choose as the nominee someone who has offshore accounts boggles the mind.
