Great music from a never to be seen again era. The 60s were a great time to be a kid where the radio was your window to the world, limited only by your imagination. Takes me back to red line tires, aluminum christmas trees, dodge ball, adjusting the vertical hold on the t.v , space food sticks, creepy crawlers and the never ending search for our Estes model rockets . All tied together with the most diverse music of any era
@enduroman428 yes it was, it was my 11th birthday the night the Beatles first appeared on Ed Sullivan, Feb 9, 1964, the official start of the british invasion. Gerry and his band were one of my favorites, but it was the Animals and Eric burden which hit me the hardest, and started me on the road of playing the blues, a road which i am still travelling, with my harmonicas as my best friends by my side!
@enduroman428 agreed, a great era, hope there will be another "bristish" or american incvasion into today's music scene, I'm doing my part by keeping the blues alive, but we need more songs like Gerry's too!!
Love this song.Played at my dad's funeral on a beautifull sunny day, neither i nor my sisters cried even tho we felt like crying! My mam only let a few drops fall (but could you blame her?).Shows what a powerfull song this is! Love ya dad <3 <3 <3 xxx
OMG...I can't say how many memories that this song has brought back...one of my favorites...I cry every time I hear it. Thank you Gerry and the Pacemakers! Love You!!!
This song gave me the strength to move on in life with a broken heart. It's sad that songs and groups like this have long since passed. Thank you Gerry, Brian, and George.
Apple - I share your emotions about the song helping get through some tough emotional times....it took awhile to learn about putting the loss of love into perspective.....knowing that eventually "it will come again." I am now 62, but still remember this song when I was 15. We had some great music....it can never happen again!!! Macroheart1
Reminds me of my freshman year in HS. It seems like only yesterday.

My 1st time away from home and this song was popular. When homesickness hit I did just the opposite and the sun found me crying.
