  • Anyone who tried DMT would recognize this sound

  • Is there any type of relationship between This Merkaba and ZAUM's Merkaba(also featuring Danny Carey)? Plus there's a ZAUM song called "Psycodellic Experience".

  • @OutlawStarkiller I think, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that ZAUM was/is a Danny Carey side project. And that this song was recorded with ZAUM and then played live at a Tool show.

    I think...

  • Masterpiece..Not just Danny Carey.the design of this song. This is the 8th wonder ..Exquisite..I can just go on with a million praises..

  • this song has all sorts of magic running through it

  • is it just me or does anyone else read these comments with Jeff Bridges voice?

  • I never knew Tool had additional album, this one. Strange that I never knew or heard of it until now. Because I've been listening to them... intentionally since 2001 I would say, when I first started really liking them with Opiate, Enima, Undertow and Lateralus. Just strange that I missed this one and didn't know it existed.

    I don't know... just strange.

  • @atennnant01 It's just a bonus EP they released to kind of ease the gap between Aenima and Lateralus. It's definetly worth the money, or download, if that's your thing. It has a "No Quarter" cover. "Push-it" live; it's quite the epic performance. And some other shit.

  • if you think that third eye is telling you to think for yourself and question authority i think that's rather odd because IT TOLD YOU TO.

  • @KARELIAN68 One person tells you to jump off a cliff, that person is your authority figure. Another person tells you don't HAVE to jump off the cliff; it's in your best interest not to.

So if someone like Carl Jung tells you to think for yourself and question authority; they are not forcing you to do anything, they are just trying to open your eyes. More specifically, that little Pineal gland behind your forehead.

  • @canesrule96 except....... shouldn't you question that?

  • @canesrule96 except.... shouldn't you question that?

  • @KARELIAN68 Of course you should. To not question the notion "question everything" is kind of ironic. "Question authority" is advice, not a demand. "Wear your seatbelt" is a demand from your authority.

  • shizzle

  • Is Danny Carey really human?

    can we get some confirmation?

  • I must say the youtube mix for tool is horrible. All of the transitional/instrumental tracks are lumped together at the end. Idiots. If you don't do it yourself...

  • haven't heard this one yet, it's just and I'm fucking excited :D

feelin like a kid in a candy store

  • drunvalo is pimping the flower of life...

  • Listened to third eye by tool last night, striaght after smoking 5 buds in a bong, at night with my mates.......weirdest shit ever. but awesome and i loved it :)

  • @iWentToNam

    sick bro

  • Tool has a message that really challenges the questions of life! The music can put you in the frame-of-mind to think for yourself and be the "open minded" person you wanted to be all along! Just take a look at the influences> Bill Hicks, Alex Grey..etc.

  • heard it on shrooms. was quite an overdose :D, but I had the most intense experiences of my life. 2 years later it still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

  • in the search for truth, pray that God sharpens Tool.

  • 3:51 Is awesome. As with the rest of the song.

  • it's some kind of psychadelic experience

  • Listen 2 this on shrooms it will blow ur mind.

  • Definetly the trippiest song I've ever heard.

  • @debopathak Then clearly you have never heard I am the Walrus by The Beatles! o.O But this song does come in a very close second!

  • dear jesus christ and doggy style marry

  • DMT

  • @kingace420 dick measuring time?

  • @Albaniandude69 you have alot to learn, I imagine you were attempting to troll.

  • @kingace420 oh so it is dick measuring time >:3

  • @Albaniandude69 look it up and learn something.

  • @kingace420 i do my learning in school, not any other place >:P what r u crazy? ;)

  • @Albaniandude69 who still learns at school?

  • @jorjethezebra No one does in the American public school system

  • @lsdap1969

are you saying that, I lied, or that the song is called "you lied"?

    Cause either way you're wrong

  • @lsdap1969 You Lied is originally by Peach. It is not an instrumental like this... This song is in fact, Merkaba.

  • @lsdap1969 it is merkaba

  • @lsdap1969 You lied.

  • @lsdap1969 Yeah, This Is Merkaba. Deffinitely Not You Lied. If You Dont Know Tool, And Dont Know What You're Talkin About Then Dont Speak On The Matter, Because You Make Yourself Look Dumb.

On A Different Note, Remember This Is Live, Most Bands Dont Even Sound This Good With Their Studio Shit. It's Says Alot About Mainstream Music When You Compare It To The Music Of True Artists Like Tool.

  • this is not you lied.

  • this is HOLY

  • WIKI WUKU OKI WAKA WIKI OKI BOGI WUKU WAKA BOGKI DOKEI fucking rocks

  • is that danny playing a xylophone in the beginning?

His since of timing is so insane. Thats what makes him great along with his skill of course

  • imagine listening to this with the faint sound of spongebob carrying from the downstairs tv... truly the wierdest and most pleasant youtube experience i have yet seen.

  • i have a hole in my pants from jizzing from this musical experience damnit aHHHHH tool is a drug

  • I think i listened to this song about 7 times today.TOOL is just amazing. Sooooo glad i found them because I would be lost listening to who knows what. I was never a fan of rock until i heard Parabola, it drew me in ,and I've been listening to TOOL ever since.

  • @pyromatic77 I've been listening to Tool and Pink Floyd all day and all night for 8 months now. I haven't listened to anything else... at all. All music except for TOOL and PF just aren't deep enough anymore. Other musicians sing about things that don't really matter. The only thing that matters is the unity, the existence, the meaning. MerKaBa

  • Danny Carey's my favorite drummer. Ever. This song is fucking crazy, and it's not even his craziest song. Thank you Tool for blessing us with such great music!

  • It's some kind of Psychedelic Experience! It's some kind of Psychedelic Experience! It's some kind of Psychedelic Experience! It's some kind of Psychedelic Experience! It's some kind of Psychedelic Experience! It's some kind of Psychedelic Experience! It Must Be A Psychedelic Fucking Experience!!!

  • TOOL JUST FUCKED MY MIND UP THE BUM!

  • @metal4lifeddie

had sex with my ears !!

  • AH LOVE YOU TOOOOOOL!!! definitely one of my favorite bands.. in the top three.. alongside maiden and DT.. all tied man i lurv it..

  • this is a grateful dead rip its og called space and its for those on lsd who want 2 see something bad iv seen it dont do it if you do dont let go dont letgo!

  • for their next album they should make the whole album with the same sort of composition approach as this song, it would be the perfect sound track for 2012 lol

  • Any guitarists out there know what Adam is doing with effects from about 5:20 to 6:57? That section of the song is is my favorite. I'm not well trained with effects yet to know what that is.

  • @gscotty311 I can mak a similar sound with an electric tooth brush, delay, distortion and flange. sounds stupid, but that's the best advice i can give

  • This is music on a much taller step. A psychedelic experience, that's for sure.

  • ladies and gentlemen danny fucking carey!

  • MI SEEING TOOL IN 2 HOURS!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

  • i listened 2 this song on shrooms it was a little intense

  • So listening to this when I try acid.

  • @0RockaRolla0

    Definitely a great idea

Listened to Tool the last time I tripped, and this was the album I started out with

Never has sitting in one spot, entranced, ever been so fulfilling

  • @0RockaRolla0

i did. can't be described in words.

  • Danny is one of the best drummers. I think the sounds that adam and justin bring in adds a lot to the song as well. I have a library of sounds on my computer to use on my akai mpd and keyboard synth, It is just fun finding sounds like the ones you hear in this song such as the freaky sound you hear in the background at 4:04.

  • every TOOL album is the shit man DANNY is better than MIKE PORTNOY of DREAM THEATER but both have good sticks and skins

  • 3/4 and 5/8 rhythm

    Danny is fucking amazing drummer

  • when in doubt, think of the best tool(s) to make it happen!

  • It's not simple at all dude. The drummer is amazing. That stuff is ridiculous.

  • this is an amazing song.. and trippy as shit if ur high. tool is so talented

  • best quote info world.

  • god bless danny carey

  • i don't even believe in that stuff and i agree

  • Any idea what makes that strange sound at around 4:30 and before? Mandala or guitar are my guesses? maybe programmed?

  • we are so honored to have this kind of music man...

  • isnt that boom at the end used in the 2 wings tracks from 10k days?

  • I feel like I'm tripping. Fucking drumming.

  • justin chancellor and danny carey together are my heroes

  • 6:00-6:57 sounds like somebody is raping t-rex

    guitar master!

  • @op1ate43 to me it sounds like a really fucking intense trip. Being on a rollercoaster ya know?

  • fuck yeah man i started drumming last year, everyone tells me i have good technique like him so ive been studieing his shit alot, its really simple, he puts alot of thaught and technique into his drumming, most of its just simple fast offbeats.

  • @washfh12 Same with Adam Jones his stuff is simple but it just takes some time to get the patteren and rythem down becaus eit's all weird half beats and shit

  • @washfh12 Really simple.. Is that right? In relation to what?

  • @washfh12 That means your off to a good start. This music is easy to play, good to practice on. Look up Mike Portnoy. Be inspired. Wish you the best.

  • @virtualbush not to be a dick but tool stuff is much more advance than dream theater at least drum wise.

  • @washfh12 what drum do you have?... i want to start play drumms too......greetings

  • @washfh12 Obviously not, if it were simple you'd be able to spell thought correctly.

  • @washfh12 Trust me, when i first started i thought the same way you did. After a few years your mind will open and you will understand it more, thats when it gets hard

  • danny carey is my insparation, as is tool as one

  • he's my inspriration and i don't even drum lol

  • @canesrule96 same with me!

  • @canesrule96

    HAHA!!!

  • @washfh12 if i had a set i would try really hard to get that good. But im too broke for one... but as it is i pay so much attention to the drumming. haha, its so different

  • when was this? anyone know?

  • Salt Lake City 1999 or 2000. All of the live shows from this album were recorded there.

  • star tetrahedron(-*-)

  • omg, danny.

  • Without judgment...

  • It's like some kind of psychedelic experience!

  • time signatures anyone?

  • I would say it is certainly more than one time signature for sure, it seems like they sometimes just keep the same BPM but change the signature often, a true mastery of rhythm.... God only knows man. And by God I mean Tool.

  • 11/8 I think. It's an 8 and a 3 if you listen. That's at the start at least, I've not tried it with the rest.

  • is this TOOL's song or is it a cover?

  • @scihizium: all original Tool.

  • Its Tool doing a song from Danny Carey's side-project ZAUM

  • no, they both just happen to have the same song title.

  • It is actually a combination of Merkaba and Psychedelic experience but used only as a reference in Tool's rendition. Which makes it a whole new song but there is definitely some inspiration or tribute, if you will, to Zaum. But it is not a cover, it is a new song named for the same purpose.

  • it's like some kind psychedelic experience

  • Drum God!!! He's better than Gavin Herrison!!

  • Danny Carey is a DRUM GOD!!!

  • I love it the most at around 6.10secs in when it starts really 'going off' :)

  • Yeah! Danny is my favorite drummer and this song just reminds me why, thanks for the awesome upload.

  • the beggining sounds like my stomach growling, but the drumming part is as awesome as awesome can be

  • The shifting, the introductions and transitions of beats and instruments, so compelling. How someone can piece conventional music together alone boggles my mind, but this is truly beyond my comprehension. AKA I fuckin LOVE it. Thank you for posting! hopefully it doesn't get zapped

  • it wont, i hope

  • Thanks for posting

  • by the way, where was this played?

  • dont know

it was on salival, doesnt say where it was played, but i do know that the song was made by danny carey's side-project ZAUM

and decided to include it for tool

  • WOW. this is so trippy.

  • Geez, this song is so amazing.

    So fun to show people.

  • it takes someone with a good musical ear to appreciate pieces like these!

    glad u like it

  • After listening all albums, check salival. Its like a deser ;). Great Upload, 46 views, its kinda joke ? lol.

  • salival is a great box set, i uploades ''you lied'' as well
