Is there any type of relationship between This Merkaba and ZAUM's Merkaba(also featuring Danny Carey)? Plus there's a ZAUM song called "Psycodellic Experience".
@OutlawStarkiller I think, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that ZAUM was/is a Danny Carey side project. And that this song was recorded with ZAUM and then played live at a Tool show.
I never knew Tool had additional album, this one. Strange that I never knew or heard of it until now. Because I've been listening to them... intentionally since 2001 I would say, when I first started really liking them with Opiate, Enima, Undertow and Lateralus. Just strange that I missed this one and didn't know it existed.
@atennnant01 It's just a bonus EP they released to kind of ease the gap between Aenima and Lateralus. It's definetly worth the money, or download, if that's your thing. It has a "No Quarter" cover. "Push-it" live; it's quite the epic performance. And some other shit.
@KARELIAN68 One person tells you to jump off a cliff, that person is your authority figure. Another person tells you don't HAVE to jump off the cliff; it's in your best interest not to.
So if someone like Carl Jung tells you to think for yourself and question authority; they are not forcing you to do anything, they are just trying to open your eyes. More specifically, that little Pineal gland behind your forehead.
@KARELIAN68 Of course you should. To not question the notion "question everything" is kind of ironic. "Question authority" is advice, not a demand. "Wear your seatbelt" is a demand from your authority.
I must say the youtube mix for tool is horrible. All of the transitional/instrumental tracks are lumped together at the end. Idiots. If you don't do it yourself...
Listened to third eye by tool last night, striaght after smoking 5 buds in a bong, at night with my mates.......weirdest shit ever. but awesome and i loved it :)
Tool has a message that really challenges the questions of life! The music can put you in the frame-of-mind to think for yourself and be the "open minded" person you wanted to be all along! Just take a look at the influences> Bill Hicks, Alex Grey..etc.
heard it on shrooms. was quite an overdose :D, but I had the most intense experiences of my life. 2 years later it still gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
@lsdap1969 Yeah, This Is Merkaba. Deffinitely Not You Lied. If You Dont Know Tool, And Dont Know What You're Talkin About Then Dont Speak On The Matter, Because You Make Yourself Look Dumb.
On A Different Note, Remember This Is Live, Most Bands Dont Even Sound This Good With Their Studio Shit. It's Says Alot About Mainstream Music When You Compare It To The Music Of True Artists Like Tool.
imagine listening to this with the faint sound of spongebob carrying from the downstairs tv... truly the wierdest and most pleasant youtube experience i have yet seen.
I think i listened to this song about 7 times today.TOOL is just amazing. Sooooo glad i found them because I would be lost listening to who knows what. I was never a fan of rock until i heard Parabola, it drew me in ,and I've been listening to TOOL ever since.
@pyromatic77 I've been listening to Tool and Pink Floyd all day and all night for 8 months now. I haven't listened to anything else... at all. All music except for TOOL and PF just aren't deep enough anymore. Other musicians sing about things that don't really matter. The only thing that matters is the unity, the existence, the meaning. MerKaBa
Danny Carey's my favorite drummer. Ever. This song is fucking crazy, and it's not even his craziest song. Thank you Tool for blessing us with such great music!

Any guitarists out there know what Adam is doing with effects from about 5:20 to 6:57? That section of the song is is my favorite. I'm not well trained with effects yet to know what that is.
@gscotty311 I can mak a similar sound with an electric tooth brush, delay, distortion and flange. sounds stupid, but that's the best advice i can give
Danny is one of the best drummers. I think the sounds that adam and justin bring in adds a lot to the song as well. I have a library of sounds on my computer to use on my akai mpd and keyboard synth, It is just fun finding sounds like the ones you hear in this song such as the freaky sound you hear in the background at 4:04.
fuck yeah man i started drumming last year, everyone tells me i have good technique like him so ive been studieing his shit alot, its really simple, he puts alot of thaught and technique into his drumming, most of its just simple fast offbeats.
@washfh12 Same with Adam Jones his stuff is simple but it just takes some time to get the patteren and rythem down becaus eit's all weird half beats and shit
@washfh12 Trust me, when i first started i thought the same way you did. After a few years your mind will open and you will understand it more, thats when it gets hard
@washfh12 if i had a set i would try really hard to get that good. But im too broke for one... but as it is i pay so much attention to the drumming. haha, its so different
