@DaAZK1D81 We always try to start a "tweener" by fitting into the smaller size. If we're unable to get a proper fit that way, we move onto the larger size. If you start with the larger size, it will likely require more air in the liner, which might create pressure points in your helmet. Best solution is to try on both helmets, if you can, to see which one gives you the best fit.
@DaAZK1D81@DaAZK1D81 Not at all. The air really nothing to do with protection, beyond the concept that it makes the helmet fit you properly. A properly fitted helmet is the best protecting helmet. It doesn't matter how much air is in the liner, as long as the helmet is fit properly on you. In fact, a helmet with too much air in it is improperly fit.
@SchuttSports Ok Because im At the end of one helmet size and at the begining of another so i just wanted to make sure what my best bet was so ill go with the smaller thanks again
@DaAZK1D81 Either the DNA or AiR XP will be great helmets for a WR. The XP is lighter so that may be a key consideration for a skill position. As far as XL faceguards, probably your best bet will be the DNA-EGOP-XL or the S-EGOP-XL, S-ROPO-XL or OPO-XL for the AiR XP.

@MrQualityGuaranteed That's great to hear that your team is is using some of the best helmets on the field. The current TPU Cushioning is now in its third generation. You may have the second gen...
@XIYourbrotherIX As soon as we see an actual, real 360. We're not sure those helmets aren't more than vaporware - considering everyone is complaining about not receiving their helmets.
@XIYourbrotherIX We have some great products working their way through the development pipeline but there's no specific time frame for a new helmet. And we don't develop our products to answer products that aren't as good as ours. As far as helmet tech goes, they're playing catch up.
@johncenafan396 Penn State has chosen to wear only Schutt helmets for the same reasons that we talk about to everyone else: better impact absorption, better heat management and better hygienics.
@schuttsports Thanks for answering my question. Also why don't NFL players wear these or Ion 4D's instead they wear cruddy Riddell's that have no protection
@Lesliechow58822 There's a lot to say to answer your question but the league incentivizes the teams to put their players in Riddell helmets by their contract with them. THBS, we're pretty proud that despite that, over 30% of the players in the NFL choose to wear our helmets, instead of taking the free ones they get from Riddell.
@Schuttsports R the jawpads vinyl covering bcs when I got mine they were like stirofoamish and burned my ears. I'm asking r they like traditional vinyl or different
@Lesliechow58822 All new varsity helmets from Schutt come standard with TPU Jaw Pads. You'll know you have these if you see a blue section of the jaw pad. If you don't, you have the vinyl-covered, standard jaw pads. There should be no difference in materials that touch your skin, though, as the TPU Jaw Pads have an exterior section that is vinyl covered.
@bigdl72 We would tell you that your coach is either not watching closely enough or he's not correctly identifying the helmets that are coming off. There is a certain series of helmets (not ours) that because of their jaw flap design, make the helmet harder to fit correctly. The stiffness of those helmets - when a faceguard is attached to them - makes many players fit them too large. Thus they're more likely to come off. THBS, any helmet that is not fit properly can come off.
@ebrito325 The only thing we can think that might be causing that from the helmet side is if the helmet isn't fit properly - it might be too tight. Check out our fitting video for the DNA Pro+ here on our YouTube channel.
@SchuttSports i checked out the video and i did everything that the video said to do and like it feels comfortable but it still hurts my head after a while of use not right a way
@SchuttSports i saw the video and followed all of the directions and it still feels comfortable when i put the helmet on but yet it still hurts the sides of my head after a while of use
everytime i wear my dna pro + helmet it always hurts my head after a while of use and i was wondering why that happens and how i can stop that from occuring everytime
Got this helmet a couple of months ago... I just changed the TPU cushions because of comfort; besides that, the helmet it has a great performance at heat release design and impact absorption!, I'm looking forward to acquire the Ion 4D, I'd rather buy schutt instead of Riddell
@Sh3aCas3m3nt While we're worry about your concussions, we have to call you on the "this helmet is unsafe." There is no such thing as a concussion proof helmet and while we believe in the performance advantages of our TPU cushioning, there are too many variables that affect (can cause) concussions to lay blame on the helmet.
So, if I'm understanding correctly the DNA is heavier than the XP Air, but provides more TPU = Better Protection. Just how much heavier is the DNA than the Air? I'm all about lightweight.
@ APDanny: it's a good helmet for anyone on the field.
@ venomsk8tr: It sounds like the side liner of the SUREFIT liner is leaking (either malfunctioning or punctured). Since you bought it at Barcelona (they're one of our dealers), you'll need to take it back to them to have it looked at. If it's malfunctioning or defective they'll replace it.
@ruby Penelope I got one today at Barcelona sporting goods in memorial I love it buy can someone help me. The top air inflator is working but the one that wraps around the back and sides isn't working
@theNaples239: any of our Schutt line of varsity helmets will work for a WR. The AiR XP is a little lighter (but that depends alot on the type of facemask you wear) so that may be something for you to consideer.
Broomy88: The DNA is great for any position. Before the ION came out Penn State and Texas Tech had nearly 100% DNA helmets. With a large stand-off we can put thicker TPU cushioning that provides better performance.
Broomy88: The DNA is heavier than the XP but the guard will make a big difference. If you want the large offset and thicker padding of the DNA and want it to be light like the XP then go with a Titanium guard on the DNA
i have heard that the DNA pro+ is heavy but is it much heavier than the XP and how about the 4ion, plus if you added the titanium faceguard to the pro+ would that make it lighter/as light as the air xp with its standard face guard. Basically just want to know if there's a huge difference and say playing cornerback could you wear the Schutt DNA pro+ and it not be to heavy.
thexfactor5: The video really highlights the features of the ION and what makes more superior that traditional foam helmets. The ION is worn by QB's like Pat White and if you're concerned with weight consider getting a Titanium mask it will make a big difference from the traditional carbon guard. The XP is lighter and you might want to check that video out as well.
Looking to buy a helmet, and got it narrowed down to two, this and the revo speed. What can you tell me about this helmet and why is this better than the speed? I like this helmet a lot, but i heard its really heavy..I'm a running quarterback so I want to stay as light as possible. I've had 3 concussions right in a row..8th grade year, freshman year, and this year my sophomore year, so im looking for a helmet to protect, I like the speed a lot, what makes your product better?
