  • Spinal Tap quote FTW

  • I wonder if Paul owns a legal copy of Photoshop XD

  • Great guitar, great with distortion, and sound like strat on clean, great guitar !

  • Does anybody know which his song is in the intro, or it's just the intro ?

  • I'm going to have to settle for the FM100TR, but it'll be enough! :)

  • ... reverse iceman XDDDDDDD

  • iceman ftw...

  • bull$h!+, that guitar ain't got that much sustain, the sustain is in his hands!!

  • I never realized how much PG looks like Gary Oldman.

  • This is AMAZING because with LOT of distorsion, the definition of the sound is not too much (of all pickups). It's really clear.

PS : I have a little and bad AMP. But I've been suprised by the middle pickup (DiMarzio® Area '67™). If you turn little the Tone of the Fireman, you have the little tone of Yngwie Malmsteen.

The power of Hambuckers and the definition of single coil.

  • I've got a Fireman 100-TR guitar.

If you play with a big Marshall AMP, you can be surprised. The sound is very loud. It's the tone of a Hambucker. I approuved Paul gilbert thing about the pickups.

    - - - -

I've too play on a little Marshall AMP. and the sound (with distorsion) is the same as hambucker (just little lighter).

  • Horrible tone !!! horrible, but superbe playing

  • @ferlottes Thats your opinion...I think it kicks serrious butt!!! lol

  • @IMaiden23 Yes it does, but not by the tone ! C'est mon opinion !

  • "Hey Joe"....@ 3:27! His versions of that are SO good!

  • Must steal... must wire in a humbucker in the bridge... must love...

  • the guitar would be way perfect if it didn't have that ugly headstock

  • I hate this guitar but after watching this, i want it so bad

  • the top cut away seems to resemble a rickenbacker 4003 to me

  • anyone else think this video shows how much paul has matured his sound i mean hes just so perfect on what note to play and not to hes truelly my fave

  • I love when he says " ...from the wood, a little bit of my fingers.." yeah right!

  • @AZIARGROUS that's what she said :D

  • you know what they say about paul gilbert: he's good at guitar

  • It was about time he found out the strenghts of stacked humbuckers give,as opposed to real humbuckers.

  • phil x rules

  • Iceman is a far more better guitar

  • How does one become like Paul? Like do we get noticed?

  • 1:40 LLLLAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEEE

  • The sound at 5:45 was an MXR Blue Box for anyone interested.

  • BAd VIdeos

  • That lick at 4:01 is deadly. Too bad my fingers aren't gigantic :(

  • super insane orgasm at 5:54 DAAAMN lol

  • Now, this guitar makes me feel on Fire! \m/ Go, Paul, Go!

  • Rush Hemispheres 5:30 and ozzy diary of a madman chord 5:40

  • it doesnt matter how its sounds with him, he can make it sound good

  • very cool modern strat tones :)

  • I like the clean tone, very sweet.

  • how does it get that insane sustain?!

  • @ermonski Seeing that it's Paul Gilbert.. No one will ever know. :D

  • @ermonski just very clear distortion, place the amp sound at max volume and play the guitar knob volume at volume 6 so it sounds extra clean, paul gilbert is a master at sound lol

  • @OneVAPORIZEDHitt420 hmm I doubt he cranks his amps real loud given that he has a hearing problem now. maybe his sustain ahs somethign to do with him cranking up the gain.

    yeah he's a tone master! :D

  • arnt the pickups supposed to be angled the other way around?

  • @MrSharpenis he did that on purpose.

  • @asdfcrow the entier point of ngleing pickups is te get more treble out of the high strings

why angle them towards the low ones?

  • @MrSharpenis To get more treble out of the low. When you throw on a lot of distortion, the lows can get really muddy, especially when playing fast with a shorter scale, and I guess he liked the bassier highs.

  • too bad it DOESNT have a LO PRO ;) ......mine does ;)

  • thank god it doesn't have a tremolo

  • 3:32 voodoo child - hendrix?

  • @KrayzieBoneThug4Lyfe He did lots of songs by hendrix mixed into 1 thingy.

  • I love guitars like this that have sharp angles, but rounded edges. They are so beautiful.

  • 11 people bought this guitar thinking they would be able to play as good as Paul Gilbert, but were greeted by a rude awakening.

  • The intro was probably one of the coolest things ive seen in my life...

  • Hi i'm paul gilbert and i'm not a egomaniac prick who keeps his new guitars in massive piles like SOMEBODY you know.

  • @metalmillita666 obviously not talking about yjm

  • @metalmillita666 I keep clicking voteup but it won't go any higher!

  • @metalmillita666 who is it? :c

  • @stix471 yngwie malmsteen

  • @metalmillita666 Hahah this made me laugh! Sooo true!

  • @metalmillita666 yngwie.... ugh

  • @metalmillita666 Hi, I'm the point of your comment. I don't actually exist.

  • very original name xd

  • now they need to make a 7 string fireman

  • ibanez really has lost their minds...theyre charging like 7 grand for this guitar. absurd, and thats coming from an ibanez loyalist.

  • Give to Paul a 300$ electric guitar and it will sound like 3000$ :)

  • how much better does that headstock look to the original 1. even tho its the exact same headstock lol

  • He said there making more economical guitar of this

  • I'd prefer this with a whammy but its awesome anyway.

  • Well, that's practically a perferct promo clip for any product: The guy actually knows what he's talking about, having made the design himself, and uses the product with plenty of knowledge. Plus nice, non-chaotic editing. Seems like a nice git.

  • is that neck scalloped or is the light just hitting it weird?

  • @drinkspecials

It's the light and the chunkiness of the frets and strings.

  • oh my god that little twang thing he does sounds killer! Very SRV sounding. great tone.

  • £6399...

  • Whenever I travel to a new city, I always look up the local guitar shop and/or pawn shop. You never know what you'll discover. I found one of these in Nashville. I plugged into a Budda 40W tube combo. Very comfortable, very bright tone and very quiet. Sitting down, the horn kind of dug into my chest, like a Parker. I am a humbucker guy, and I really liked the p/u's. The neck was easy to get around on. Bottom line, I liked it, but for $7000, you had better be a huge Paul Giilbert fan.

  • I like how at 4:07, he just continues talking as if he didn't just play an insane jaw-dropping solo.

  • MUST GET SOMEDAY!!!!

  • WHO IS HE TALKING TO !?

  • was it just me or was he playing hey joe in the middle there?

  • @nanaimo757 Apparently they're making a mass produced one that will decrease the cost insanely and make it more affordable.

  • GIRLS! This one is for you:

"SAVE I FIRETRUCK, RIDE A FIREMAN!!!!"

  • How much this guitar ?

  • @rutchanon2 it's like 7 grand it comes with the guitar, case, paul's headphones, the same cable he uses, and strap

  • i thought my 10's were way to thin lol...

  • @rocker816 I guess it's thick for Paul as he's always used 9s and in the early days he used 8s.

  • He is just a funny smart dude.. definitely not yngwie!

  • insane price!

  • guys, i cant' understand the part at 2:05 where he's talking about the string tension. shorter neck means looser strings? and then the sustain, using thicker strings improves the sustain? can someone plz explain these?

  • @Neltheros the thicker the strings the longer the tone tends to hold on the guitar, looser strings also improve sustain

  • @ImpThaW thanks!

  • @Neltheros

With thicker guitar strings, the note will resonate for a longer time compared to thinner string. Therefore, you should have greater sustain with thicker strings. What Paul was saying about the neck scale, is that the neck is a shorter scale which allows you to use thicker strings without increasing the tension greatly, compared to using heavier gauge strings on a standard guitar neck which would increase the tension much more.

  • @AskeGuitar ty very much but, doesn't higher tension mean higher sustain? unless he meant that playing with a not so high tension is easier

  • @Neltheros

Thanks no problem. As long as the tension is sufficient enough to keep the strings from buzzing on the frets, the tension won't make that much of a difference. You might be able to get a slight amount more of sustain, but regular gauge should suffice.

  • @AskeGuitar thanks for sharing your knowledge. i really appreciate it :)

  • he looks like beck here

  • @t0psecretshit Hell Yes.

  • I love how he's happy to have made that guitar in photoshop, like a happy puppy : D

  • @redknight91 Well it is pretty cool to draw a picture and have someone make a guitar that looks exactly like it.

  • @XAlphaZEROX No doubts about that : D

  • What's the song at the end? Sounded really catchy

  • @yekshemesh4alig The Gargoyle

  • love paul gilbert, hate the make up

  • @zakkattack99 i dont see make up... awesome guitar tho, i looked on guitar center and its 6000$ so fuck that haha

  • so this guitars only $7000 apparently...

  • a fender stratocaster that you swap the pickups for some of them DiMarzio-hum canceling-pickups just seams like a more affordable choice

  • At 3:49... Only Paul Gilbert can make something that simple sound that good.

  • Lol paul gilbert with a shirt. This is Epically Unique...

  • Nigel?

  • @44eelz nigel tufnel spinal tap dude..watch it!

  • i like shreed guitars that arnt mean looking. This one fits the bill but it aint cheep its supper expensive

  • he's so kwl and the guitars a beauty

  • im not one for crazy guitars. but that thing sounds like a dream.

  • truly a dream guitar. And I don't even play metal.

  • If only I could afford one of these. Can't wait until the production run.

  • By any chance that anyone has to play one of these things...I bought one and I love it... Like he said , great playability and tone!!!! AMAZING JOB Paul

  • what's the intro song's name?

  • @lizardinhu

Song is The Gargoyle from the album silence followed by a deafening roar.

  • what's the song's name of the intro?

  • nice pinkie work

  • anyone know the song at the start?

  • everybody needs a paul gilbert bobble head for their car.

  • @ConspireToConspire

  • @ConspireToConspire : ...Your statement couldn't be more true...I want one now... =/

  • SOOOO much money,,,but God, it sure is perty!!! It sounds like a dream, too!

  • Paul is probably the only shredder i like.

  • sarcastic little laugh at 1:42 :-P

  • I DONT SEE WHY PEOPLE WILL PUT NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS ON JUST A VERY CLEAN INTERVIEW WITH A DOWN TO EARTH GUY?

i hope there is a way to see who negates videos.. YOUTUBE think about it

  • oh, what a nice fellow!

  • Paul G. cracks me up.What do you call an Iceman turned upside down? Why the Fireman of course.Paul's shredding doesn't bore me to tears. He's the real deal.

  • @fretfirestarter it's funny because he used to call it "reverse Iceman" until he asked if someone had a good idea for a name, and then he had chosen for Fireman, because what's the opposite of ice/water? :-P

  • Paul seems like such a friendly guy! Other famous metal-shredders seem so angry and snobby all the time lol

  • Why is such a brilliant guitarist wasting his time f'in' around with prettifying a guitar?

  • Why is such a brilliant guitarist wasting his timing f'in' around with prettifying a guitar?

  • i had to stop the video half way. id die kill sacrifice a nut to shred like him

  • @darkjediguy123 i think it was the takeoff in his ibanez airplane flanger

  • yesterday night i saw him with his amazing band, it was the craziest thin ever!!!!

  • @FallenCole777 they are. well, technically paul is. it's his new fireman that he used in fuzz universe.

  • @darkjediguy123 ME TOO!!

  • 3:36 on mute is hillarious!

  • wats the song playing at the start?

  • Paul's tone hasn't been this good in a really long time. Kinda makes me want one...

  • I can do that.

  • PG on a signe coil. who woudl though. And its match playing style In my opinion. Clean sound + fast picking just owns. and im rly impressed by the heavy sound of those single coil pickups.. just dont need hambusck anymore. Awesome guitar

  • Paul's even better at PhotoShop than am.

  • "And a little bit from my fingers"

    Yeah, just a little......

  • Paul's 70's - 80's Rock 'n' Roll shred style

  • Paul Gilbert is Jesus/God, who has taken place in a cool mans body and made him the coolest guitarist alive..

  • @langedreng1 that was slightly homosexual

  • 2:38 Spinal Tap

  • why, why Paul do we need!? to $6000

  • it kinda look like parker classic fly

  • Oh, and I dig the old-school Ibanez bridge. It looks just like the one on my '80's Destroyer used to... :( Plus, this one has a cool built-in carrying handle!

  • Paul- thanks for losing the fake f-holes, and I'm glad you've come around and realized that the single coils give you more articulation than the humbuckers you used to play forever... Love the plank!

  • I AM PAUL GILBERT AN i...have AIDS

  • Paul gilbert is not PG rated if you know what i mean...

  • I still don't understand how one person can be so awesome. Coolest down to earth person, and an amazingly good guitar player... I really hope I get to meet this guy someday.

  • 0:08 to 0:28

paul is officially the coolest motherfucker alive.

  • Does anybody know what riff he's playing at 5:55? It's amazing whatever it is

  • goddamn!! that TONE!!!!

    my favorite tone.

  • i looks retarded but it sounds great!

  • Paul Gilbert is definitely one of the greatest and coolest musicians around.

  • i think i have a new idol

  • wammy bars are gay

  • @morristhemoron No, No silly.... you just don't know how to use them! They're for changing the pitch, they're not for sticking up your ass!

  • I like how when he shreds, you actually hear music, not just speed

  • @AlexChaseMusic: That is the best thing about him!!

  • @AlexChaseMusic Yep, that's what I like about him and hate about Malmsteen !

  • @michaeljjeffrey Never really got into malmsteen
