That was pretty tame, and it was also justifiable. I've worked on many productions, and the people you have to rely on like production assistants and producers are so careless and stupid. I've seen lights fall on sets because of drunk techs, a prod. asistant whose only job it was to carry 2 costumes lose them because she had to get herself a cup of coffee at starbucks, and call cars that botch addresses when you need to be at a studio at a specific time. I give him credit for a tame response.
You really think so? I wouldn't call someone who has donated MILLIONS to charity, has his own AIDS foundation, paid off all his friends/supporters mortgage when he was going through rehab a wanker!
@omuen aids foundation what a load of bollocks aids is punishment from god like its clear to see what charity did he donate to some queer charity hes just awful
He donated money to women and children in 3rd world countrys, and went to see what they were like for himself. Just because he is gay is no reason to hate one of the worlds greatest musicians of all time. He has given so many people happieness!
"The excitement builds backstage" LOL its kind of odd watching this all these years later how many people in his life at the time this was filmed he is apparently not on speaking terms with now.
@PianoShapedObject Many seemed to have taken financial advantage of him, although Elton is responsible for his own mistakes. He made $100 million touring last year, but works all the time. Still, his voice is amazing 40 years own.
@Daveonarave John Reid too, but he's made it very clear why they don't speak anymore. Halley and his mum he's given no comment that I've ever read, not that he's obligated to explain anything to anyone not involved. It just seems really strange that someone who's doted on his mother all his life is supposedly not speaking to her.
@PianoShapedObject Its really sad actually. Reid, ex manager & partner, Halley personal assistant, things go wrong sometimes, shit happens. But his mum is his mum, as you say she's been a very important person to him, probably THEE most til David appeared! I admire the man's music and AIDS work very very much, until he talks both on stage before 'Your Song' climax, and whilst campaigning, about importance of 'love and compassion' when he doesn't even talk to his own mother!
@Daveonarave The mum thing bugs me, but I also think its important to remember there's no telling what the situation actually is because so little has been said pretty much nothing by him that I'm aware of. I would hate to vilify him for it and come to find later it was more of a family tragedy and not a tantrum. My Grandmother complains because my uncle doesn't come to visit anymore because she keeps forgetting he's dead, he could be dealing with a similar situation.
Elton's father... wasn't a good father. I hope his father saw Elton's success... just so Elton could say to his father.... in non-verbal language... "Who's the big man now?" How grounding for Elton... to tell his Nan that he's going to the Oscars... and she was unfazed. Daily doses of compliance ... has to make a person... who was raised with a father like Elton's... a daily roller coaster of emotions. But then again...he's an Aries.
@weirdguy75 I'm still glad he made it. After the one for "I'm Still Standing," the video for "Believe" is my favorite. It's incredible, powerful and moving - like the song itself.
The "lady" is a british singer named Lulu, who is a close friend to Elton for many years. She has performed a song called "I've been loving you" written by Elton and Bernie back in 1968 on the Eurovision Song Contest. The track here hasn't been ever released, and probably never will be. They also dueted on a song called "Teardrops"
Who is that lady who Elton John had composed a song for her? Also would love to know the title of that song and if/where I can get it. Sounds like another good one! I am referring to clip section 6:47
