  • Anti fireworks laws are going the way of the the Dodo bird. More and more states are legalizing all fireworks. I believe there are only like 4 or 5 states in the entire country that still have a 100% fireworks ban. Maine just went from all fireworks illegal to one of the most fireworks friendly states over night. ANTI FIREWORKS PROPAGANDA HAS FAILED MISERABLY

  • Ok how many people annually get injured, hundreds? Maybe a couple thousand? How many injured by cars including lots of children annually? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? Does that mean we ban cars because idiots sometimes misuse them? Hell no.

  • Hmmmm. Sparklers burn huh... Never knew lol.

  • Consumer fireworks: An accident waiting to happen. Anti-fireworks PSAs: Fascism waiting to happen.

  • Fireworks aren't hard to use. If you light one upright and get away. (Or hold one properly incase of sparklers and such) NOTHING BAD SHOULD HAPPEN. This video is like banning cars because people crash them and die. It's not the fireworks that are dangerous, It's the stupidity thats dangerous.

  • The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) - Organization that has put smoke dectors in our homes...Sprinkler Systems in our offices....etc. Need I say more.... Do your home work and have the education on what is safe.....................Don't learn the hard way or be ignorant to change....

  • @LiveALifeThatMatters

you advocate "doing your homework" yet you are supporting an organization who clearly doesn't follow your advice. the NFPA is a complete joke with all these anti-fireworks ads. the stats they use are often baseless and fabricated or at the very least, stretched and spun to fit their agenda.

consumer fireworks are very safe when used correctly just as most products are. blenders are dangerous if you stick your hand into them, by your logic that misuse constitutes a ban?

  • Maybe we should stop flying and driving. There are more injuries and deaths every year because of those. Not to mention the dangerous machines that manufacture the parts for them and the dangers those people face daily. The NFPA should be concerned with safety and if they WERE truely concerned they would teach the safety standards and post HOW TO videos. Not tell the people that there is one more thing they want to take away from us!

  • Teaching is the only why to educate, not banning. This is not a communist country. It's ok for you to dislike something, but to take away something patriotic like fireworks from those who enjoy the art of it is UnAmerican! You guys really have your facts twisted. There are more important things to deal with in our country than wasting our tax money on this.

  • Consumer fireworks are an accident waiting to happen. Of course, cars are accidents waiting to happen as well. And I don't see you speaking out against cars, do I? So why speak out against fireworks? Assholes.

  • you people who run these operations and this alliance should really find a hobby. How could anyone find time in todays world to worry about consumer fireworks? There are much more things to worry about like your children who are probably sniffing over the counter drugs because your to concerned about someone having a bottle rocket, and don't spend anytime with them. Come on people get a freakin life fireworks are a lot of fun and can be used safely, Especially todays consumer fireworks.

  • if u hurt ur self with sparkelers u are probably retarded if u hurt your self its probably your fault......

  • Yes, there are morons everywhere who want to suck all the enjoyment out of life! As soon as someone gets something cool, some asshole group is always trying to take it away! Blowing stuff up on July 4th is FUN! Fireworks ARE NOT FOR KIDS, they are for ADULTS! Why don't you morons get that through your heads and quit trying to ban them!

  • i just dont agree in the part that you say fireworks are not for kids. fw are for all ages as long as you're careful

however i do agree that fw shouldnt me banned

  • Hey NFPA, next time you are at the zoo, rub mashed up bananas all over yourselves and climb into the chimpanzee cage...you will make all sorts of new friends that way!

  • A ban does not stop their sale/use;it just pushes the trade to an illegal unregulated blackmarket in dangerous lethal potentially deadly import fireworks of unknown origin which could kill/injure the person lighting them and spectators watching them.

  • My dad's co-worker's boyfriend likes to get the illegal kind. BAD idea.

I live in California, where they're pretty funny about fireworks anyway, and for good reason---we haven't gotten a lot of rain lately and our state is bad to have brush fires.

  • What a pathetic waste of money. I know for sure I'm not getting hurt from the things, and I know for sure the substantial majority of those with a decent IQ will not be injured. I sure as hell know I don't want to pay for the irresponsibility and idiocy of others. So, why the hell should I care about NFPA again?

  • NFPA is not on the pyrotechnician's side- they want fireworks banned.

  • this is bull.... 90% of the time it is the persons fault they got hurt because they were doing somthing stupid/unsafe. But i also understand the fact that some fireworks malfunction and hurt people, but still we dont need to ban fireworks, come on. we just need to practice safety more, i have shot fireworks since i was a little kid and im still fine because i heed fireworks saftey. I think maybe fireworks safety classes for the public might be a good idea.

  • My dad used to be a volunteer fireman. I don't like to use rockets because of their unpredictable ways. And I don't know how to use firecrackers.

  • "Sparkler burn at over 2000 degrees Fahrenhiet" Yea, the only way you're going to cause damage with one is if you put it right on the surface. I've tried starting a fire and hurting myself with one for laughs, and the only way that is possible is if you're drunk. I wish OPERATING FIREWORKS WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE would be banned, not the fireworks themselves.

Fireworks are banned here in Rhode Island, and the taxes brought from consumer fireworks would probably help the state out a lot.

  • Out of all the awful things in the world that kill millions of people every year, I feel sorry for those who invest so much effort in getting rid of something like fireworks which cause a few thousand injuries a year and single-digit amount of deaths. Don't get me wrong, any amount of death is bad, but when malaria and AIDS is KILLING millions of people annually while fireworks are injuring a few thousand, I don't understand why you wouldn't invest time in AIDS/malaria prevention instead.

  • ive been burnt before but im not dead and its because of a stupid decision i made... its rarely the fireworks fault, its the p[eople who light them that are drunk... and ps dont hand your child a 2000 degree burning sparkler its not safe.. if people made better decisions, salutes would be availible, but some dick had to be drunk and held one..... fact is if fireworks are banned your taking our indepence away, and shame on you

  • My Daughter is 30 years old this year and i taught her to shoot fireworks at the age of 5 under my supervision. She has never been burnt or injured. What is with all these negative ads? Safety NOT banning is the way to go

  • OUTLAW CARS - cars kill lots more people.
