EmmyLou, I will always love you Sweetheart. You bring back so many great memories. Not that I've forgotten them, just places them in an order of good taste and sweet smells for certain times with my late Wife, gone 14 months ago. Thanks. 022112.
regardless of anything... whether LIVE or Studio recorded. this piece turn out to be the best rendition i ever heard. Yah! Linda Ronstadt maybe absent on this video clip but her lovely voice is so evidently present. what matters most are these two country female living legends are awesome! thanks to Bruce Springsteen for the composition. Long live Nashville country artists!!!
If anyone ever asks "Where is the Center of the Earth" just tell them "It's wherever Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt are standing in front of a Microphone".
I love the video of Emmylou singing this with Bruce at one his shows at Giants Stadium in front of about 60,000 at one of ten sold-out shows there on the Rising tour, summer of 03.
It's amazing that a stadium audience will allow a song like this to be played, but Bruce is one of the few musicians in the world to have the stature and skill to pull that off, and Emmylou certainly contributes enormously to that performance.
@coolram52 Hi Cool . . . this track was recorded at The Tucson Inn it was recorded "simultaneously" if you have a listen to your copy you will hear the hotel staff etc clapping at the end, not accounting for overdubs, to me that is live, although once recorded it is no longer live. Did you like it? Thanks Ally.
@TakenAlsoAlso Hmm...I don't hear any clapping. My understanding was that they set up a makeshift studio at the Tucson Inn and recorded the Western Wall CD. But I'm quibbling. Yes, I did like the wonderful pics of Emmylou, especially the ones from her "Pieces Of The Sky" days. But it would have been nice if half of the pics were of Lovely Linda and the other half of Emmylou. With maybe a few of Neil tossed in.

At the beginning of the song when Linda sings "we'll sleep 'neath auburn skies" I used to think she was singing "whistlin' 'neath auburn skies."

Saw Neil Young mentioned below and it would be nice to add him as the harmonica player. Just a great song and performance by all.

I'm pretty sure this was not a live performance. It's a studio recording from the album "Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions".

Ally... these are all so great.
It means a lot to me, my friend, to see so many of your great tributes
to Emmylou. i know i've said that before, but i can't say it enough.
...and as an understatement in one defining word - Thanks.
