I fell in love with Kate Hudson in this movie. In her role as Penny Lane she is sweet, fun, smart and despite the band aid lifestyle, still innocent. Said it before and I'll say it again ... just a great movie.

I don't think the character of Penny Lane was much of an a challenge, for an actor. Kate Hudson i think, played that part with ease, and maybe got a little too much praise for her preformance. Marcia Gay Harden's preformance was studied, thoughtout, and played to perfection. Just my opinion! :) P.S- Don't get me wrong, I love Kate, she's wonderful!!!

Ok, Kate Hudson SHOULD have won that Oscar!! I mean she gave a fantastic preformance, which was heart warming and heart breaking at the same time. Kate really showed us this lost girl, confused about her surroundings and ideas. Not to mention she was the front funner, and a lock on that award. I would have loved if she had won then she and her mom would both have Oscars! :( She really deserved to win, and almost did until Marcia Gay Harden snuck up and stole the gold.
