@AObliviousOne If you've only used it once or twice I wouldn't worry about it. It will come out on it's own. Hot showers get rid of it even quicker but once or twice is no big deal. This is more for those people that think they coat their hair in wax and they have instant dreads. A lot of people believe wax makes dreads. No... Tangles make dreads and hair locks together better when there is no lubricant to make it slip. I just watched your video of your dreads. They look good for 2 mo's.
Its funny how much you promote what you believe in....but this website does not even exist, I have looked for it several times and others I know have to, whats up with that???
Thank you! I had my dreads done two days ago, and I already see problems with the wax. It's actually keeping my hair from dreading. I'll get it all out with ACV!
Thanks so much! I used like... the barest amount of wax on my dreads before I cut them off, and now that I'm trying to reattach them I want the wax OUT! I did a deep clean, but that didn't get ALL the wax out, and I was suprised at how the little wax I used built up so nastily... I'll be trying this next!
Ok... I personally like Knotty Boy Wax but... I dont like the idea of the wax just building up after every use. I would rather it wash out before I reapply, you know. So im thinking about using the ACV to help with this. Do I need to dilute it with water or do i jus saturate my hair with the ACV then rinse?
I personally don't like wax. I explain why in some of my other videos. I have a video for people to post comments on whether they like or dislike wax and why.
hey i had my dreads done like 5 days ago, the hairdresser used bees wax on my dreads... is it to early for me to rinse out the wax? will my dreads come undone if i do? im so pissed off cuz i didnt realise just how bad wax is for dreads and now i have a head full of it!!
I would wait a few months. The wax is holding them together 4 now. You could remove it now but your dreads will get pretty loose and you will have to twist them and roll them a lot. If you let them dread for a few months you may get some progress. In about 3 months when you get the wax out they will probably look like 4 week old dreads. I am really sorry that you let someone convince you to use wax. Wax looks good at day one but it hurts in the long run.
Thnx for getting back to me, my dreads are looking some what better, a fair bit of the wax has worn in :) but my only problem now is that the wax is causing me to get really bad dandruff!! can u suggest anything that will get rid of it but wont f%$k my dreads???? thnks again for getting back to me :)
Apple cider vinegar may help if you soak them and then wash your dreads afterwards. Also you can try using pure aloe to moisturize your dreads and scalp.
okie dokie thanks for the advice and for getting back to me so quickly! if i just tried to wash them with normal everyday shampoo would that be a bad idea?
No, you can do that. Dr Bronners is the best. The problem with normal shampoos is that they have conditioners that can cause a build up. If you soak them in vinegar every now and then you will be ok. Just make sure you dry them good because normal shampoos are meant to trap moisture and they will start to stink if you don't get them completely dry. You should blow dry them if your using normal shampoo and do the vinegar thing every now and then.
Ok I take that back!! I tried the apple cider vinegar and that DIDN'T work either... Neither did the dread zasta removal cream from dreadhead HQ.. HOWEVER WHAT DID HELP WAS washing my hair under HOT HOT water, that melted the wax, & another thing that helped was my HAIR STRAIGHTNERS to get the rest out... Now all I have to do is deep condition my hair for a while, coz that dread zasta and apple cider just wrecked my hair making it dry & brittle... TRUST ME my method worked!!
Man thankyou so much for the advice. I'm having a dread crisis, my friend dreaded my hair 2 days ago and she used way too much wax, so now I wanna remove the wax completely!! I look stupid with big blobs of wax on my head. Bummer too coz I already ordered wax removal from dread head hq?? Paying $40 for a bottle. I'll give apple cider a go instead. Thanks or that dude :-) big ups to you!!!
