  • morrissey the legend

  • this inspires me to read the goodwin book. such rich pathos and emotional honesty, even if it's part and parcel of beliefs and actions that will inflict and incite pain upon others, out of ones' own pain. "england for the english" - both literal yet ambiguous/fictitious entities subject to erm, interpretation, ongoing (re)definitions, conflicts & resolutions. but at the base it's a longing for rootedness by all, from those claiming to be uprooted to various degrees of "newly planted". RIP ronson

  • England for the English !!!

  • Excellent song! Morrissey at his best - hammer to the nail...

  • @philchelt There is no attitude, the song isn't inciting racism, its about a boy who joins the national front

  • race has nothing to do with multiculturalism

  • Comment removed

  • Morrissey doesn’t tell you what is right and what is wrong, he just tells you 'what is'; his mistake was believing that the pop world would be intelligent enough not to form shallow, surface opinions. Saying Morrissey is racist for writing a song about a boy lost to the National Front is like saying Shane Meadows is racist for writing and directing This Is England. Why is it acceptable for literature and film to tackle serious social subjects in the name of art but not popular music?

  • @franklymrshanklyy as it's often been demonstrated by loose lips or private life behaviors of music icons (lenon, moz, clapton - just staying on the british branch for a moment), it's important to separate the person from their art. to be able to call out the former when appropriate, and still appreciate the latter - it can be done!

  • @franklymrshanklyy I think the answer to your question is because music is seen as a more "personal" art form than literature or film, no one assumes you could be playing a character when you sing a song, but the assumption stands when one acts a role in a film or play, or even when someone writes a book! As stupid as that is, I believe that is what most people think (all be it subconsciously or not) about the matter...

  • No top comment ? This is my chance to shine like a star..

  • @kinkokonko If the natives wouldnt have existed, we wouldn't even be able to spell "science" or "art". Just for your information. I dont want to open up another discussion. Thanks :=)

  • "...it has surely been dumbfoundingly obvious that Morrissey, the outsider's outsider, is by his very Morrisseyness entirely incapable of racism." -- Simon Goddard

  • "Your Arsenal" = one of his best efforts

  • But, isn't it a story about disaffected youth, with the refrain 'England for the English' being the clarion call? It's third person, people, he's the narrator. Ho, and indeed, hum.

  • ingland for pakis

  • because ..because we must

  • 19 people are so politically correct they're secretly racist.

  • One of the most beautiful lyrics ever written:

"England for the English, England for the English."

  • @JohnPurchaseArt I´ll have to dissapoint you by sayin those lyrics are as quoted as they are in your comment.

  • @Stensow

    Nah, you've not done anything.

  • Multi-culturalism is a euphamism. Multi-Culturalism destroys all cultures, whether this is a good or a bad thing is a different conversation, but at least the pro Multi culti's should be honest about his fact.

I do not remember voting "to hand my culture away" . The west is in steep decline. We have two babies in a marriage and the immigrants have 14 children. It doesn't take a demographer to figure out what the outcome will be.

  • @baigish100

    hear hear

Seems like its OK to invade European countries with random immigrants.

When the same happened in the United States, Aus, etc we are worried about the 'indigenous' population.

Please. If you dont like the West, you are a hard core nut, Fk off and stay in your Caves

  • @kinkokonko I'm sorry, did immigrants to Europe maim, kill and commit genoice on the native population or did they they come to work and pay taxes? Its just not the same. Look at how natives live in the US and Aus and compare it to here. You rule your own land, thats right, white british men rule they government here, do Natives do the same in the US and Aus. Immigrants are a tiny percentage here.

  • @ladylusciouz

Did the Natives ever do any thing for mankind ?

Name Africans, Abos, American Indian, that have done anything for Science or Art?

  • @kinkokonko so that makes it right, does it? these races were very prominent at the start of mankind, they laid the for humanity.

  • @ladylusciouz I think right and wrong are purely personal perspectives. To me is it right to have half the world living in shit, no absolutely not. But I do believe Human kind is running at 2 or more speeds at people seem to ignore that. I think the West is right. No doubt. In terms of education, science and evolution. I believe in Darwin. Animals were very prominent at the start if humanity, though I would kill one if it threatened my way of life.

  • ABB..

  • "Can I leave Christianity nicely or have a death sentence on my head if i choose not?"

  • @beltenia Apostasy

  • @kinkokonko I'm just playing devil’s advocate. People go to football on a Saturday religiously, in the US they circumcise themselves under no religious doctrine, even Morrissey is worshiped in a god-like way. We live in a society where people are stupid and brainwashed by the media, so there is no longer a need for organised religion to control the masses. The mantra of Morrissey is to see things in a different way, not to follow the crowd, see the bigger picture.

  • @jk47hk I agree. Group/Fan following. Teams/Clubs etc has positive Aspects. What I want to stress is Religion is not just a harmless version of a 'Club'. From the UK following a football team you may get into arguments with another fan, though I still will not mutilate my child, kill other supporters, ignore modern science etc.

    And Religion?

Even more perversely with a football team you do have things I based on fact. they do exist.

Religion. I commit crime on pure speculation.

  • @kinkokonko There are noble things in Islam such as giving to charity, looking after the community, not making money from money, though most of these have been curcumvented through modern interpretion. Also, many of the things you list pre-date Islam (veiling of women was practiced by the Greeks), and are down to it's inception at a time of war. A relgion is just a philosphey to follow to live your life, if people choose to use it to do bad things, whose fault is it? People are just assholes.

  • @jk47hk There is nothing nobel about stoning people to death, bowing to the east, cutting of your daughters clitoris, dressing women in bin liners etc. etc. There is fuck all good about Islam and all organized Religion.

  • @ollieeSkate Why are you so quick to brand someone 'islamophobic" just for expressing an opinion that is different to yours? You offer nothing insightful or new in your post, just a mindless rant repeating what you have read/heard in the news. Have you ever been to an area with a high Muslim population in the UK? I lived in Leicester for 25 years, there are areas where you would think you were in Pakistan! Western Christians? The UK and US government only follow the religion of $. Go Morrissey!

  • @jk47hk Thank you but I will say I am ANTI Islam because I see ZERO Good in it.

Can you explain one great and good aspect?

I open the floor to honestly define Islam and the treatment of Women, Whites, Jews, others .. to be anywhere near Civil ?

  • My brother had an epileptic fit over the end of the song LOL

    But great show!

  • Being irrational is behaving in respect to the the outcome is irrational or other words unlikely.

The World is a mix. But If I had my crayons to color the dead people what will the world look like?

  • @kinkokonko mate, are you drunk?

  • @xGoD4CoD4x pissed out of my mind, son

  • morrissey skinhead? joajajajaaj XD ... las cosas que uno se encuentra en internet :).

  • From the World of Morrissey Tour '95. If that is from the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, as it looks like it is, that's me moshing it front-right just below the stage!!

    Brilliant night!!

  • let's just say hypothetically that he's not a racist........look at all of the fucked up racist skinheads that worship him and claim him as their own. they're even posting RIGHT HERE on this video. he doesn't even disavow them. for years i was one of the people that said the claims were ridicuous. if you do your research.....you'll be heartbroken.....just like me. i thought he was better than that....much better.....and smarter....

  • @jasminnie Hitler claimed Wagner's Music. Does that make the music bad or evil?

You have to look beyond politics.

I don't think Morrisey is a racist. I think he is proud of being white. proud of being English.

Both of which I am and I a proud, but in this shit age it make you a racist.

England is an arse of a country where you cant' put a Christian symbol at Christmas but where you are expected to tolerate muslims who blow people up.

Up Morrisey enough of the ignorance and shite religion

  • @kinkokonko You can't put a Christian symbol up at Christmas? Fucking lying idiot.

  • @ourben Ok you stupid RETARED HICK. Are you English?

Have you ever seen a national paper put a Christian Cross anywhere near a Christmas Celebration?

No. not fucking suprised you COCK

  • @kinkokonko What mainstream newspaper has any interest in doing that?

  • @ourben

I have watched you page. I am at a total loss to see any coherent or intelligent.

Thank for you are a Yank ( Repulian? )

  • @kinkokonko No I'm English.

  • The Sun and Mirror have been attacked before for being insensitive to the multi cultural English by printing crucifixes etc. Basically England is a Christian country. Fulln stop. With a tail between its legs.

Personally I am a totally agnostic to religion but the mind set of the Muslims in Europe poses more harm to this world than the Christians.

If you dont believe me, count the number of cross on TV, papers etc at Christmas.

  • @kinkokonko England is a multicultural country and it always has been. Tabloids have never been genuinely attacked for printing the mere act of printing crucifix, and certainly not The Daily Mirror who for roughly the last decade have been Labour sycophants. Counting crucifixes doesn't tell you anything. What am I to even compare the number to?

Muslims aren't particularly worse for the country than Christians, we're just unfamiliar with Islam. You're overreacting and that's all there is to it.

  • @ourben Always multi cultural? Factually incorrect. Countless papers, press and freedom or speech has been impacted by fear of reprisal from Muslims. Fact. People have been killed. If you want to try this out for size why not post some thing offensive, even in jest, regarding the Christian faith. Compare the reprisal to what you get when you do the same to the Muslim faith. As mentioned England comes across as multi cultural, but it is broken in fear on one culture, say unlike France.

  • @kinkokonko Britain has always been multicultural. You are familiar with the British Empire, right? That wasn't a dream.

If newspapers are frightened to print things because of an irrational fear Muslims, that has nothing to do with anybody else. That's entirely up to their cowardly editors. And Christians aren't immune to going batshit either, just look at Belfast this week.

I partly agree with the last thing you said.

  • @ourben I dont think I would equate the British Empire to Multiculturalism any more than I would the Japanese Empire in the 1930-40s. I don't think its irrational fear. Its pretty rational to fear reprisal of death. To submit to it is where we have to change. Like France and Holland etc. I am not on Crusade here but I wont tolerate intimidation based on this crap subject or religion. The fact is the middle east and Muslim world are these most primitive in their society and human rights.

  • @kinkokonko They're not all primitive. Just look at the recent revolts in North Africa. You are blaming the public for what their governments do. That's lazy and dishonest.

And fearing death is exactly what makes fearing Muslims irrational. These people you are afraid of are not all out to kill you, and those that are don't hate you what you personally believe, they are against you for the same reason you blame them, our governments.

Fish and chips, pizza, curry, and kebabs is who Britain is.

  • @ourben I do not think it is irrational to be afraid of death.

If you don't think there is something more perverse, ignorant and down right evil going on in the world than the real hard core Muslim regimes please pay attention to more eloquent commentators than my self. See Hitchens recent article in Vanity Fair.

P.S. Last time I was back in London is more like Litter, Broken Infrastructure, 20% VAT and Closing Pubs. Much as I loved living there fro ages I think its really heading bad.

  • @kinkokonko It is irrational to fear that people who don't have time to think about you are somehow out to kill you. Islam has plenty of its own infighting to be getting on with. They only care about the west because the western capitalism got financially involved. And that's our dominant religion. Any conflict with us is profits vs. prophets.

  • @ourben I think you example of the revolts does not answer the primitive point. They are going through the same evolutionary steps that Europe went through pre 20th centenary. If you really think this world or Human race is so uniformly evolved you are very misguided . And again I cant see any good side on the any call for Religion, especially in running an Economy or Moral society. It is a primitive fairy tale, a kin to any old bollocks like Santa. And you wouldn't build a society on that.

  • @kinkokonko You're right, but you're talking about memetic evolution. Ideology can change at any moment.

  • @kinkokonko oh god, another islamophobic moron. YOU are the only one who is primitive. for some reason in your largely incoherant rants you don't mention the fact that the "civilised" western christians are carrying out atrocities against islamic nations on a daily basis. thousands of innocent iraqi, afghan, and palestinian civillians have been slaughtered by the british and U.S government, while mindless bigots like you make racial slurs and play into their hands.

  • @ollieeSkate

    Look FUCK head.

    1. Is RAPE a crime or punishment in Western Society?

    2. Can I leave Christianity nicely or have a DEATH sentence on my head if I choose not

    YOU ARE A RETARD.

  • @kinkokonko first of all you have failed to address any of the points in my previous post. also the sentence "Can I leave Christianity nicely or have a death sentence on my head if i choose not" does not make a whole lot of sense (your low intelligence level is not only shown by your opinions, but by your syntax as well). as for rape as a punishment, there have been several accounts of rape on palestinian prisoners in isreali camps- which are funded by the west.

  • @ollieeSkate "Can I leave Christianity nicely or have a death sentence on my head if i choose not?"

If you cant make sense of that sentence you indeed don't have clue about the subject in question.

  • @kinkokonko have a death sentence if you choose not to what? anyway you have, as expected, not responded to any of the points i have just made so this is clearly not worth my time. grow up

  • @ollieeSkate Do you know the punishment for being a Muslim and then changing your mind?

    Clearly not.

  • @kinkokonko there is only punishment in very few extremist contries, other muslim nations like egypt have no such thing. scientology is a western religion and people have had their reputations destroyed and been killed for leaving it. things are the same on both sides

  • @ollieeSkate As mentioned I am not religious but your limp excuse does not help anyone.

Scenario 'I am a child in Egypt. I am taught about Islam from birth. AT 16yrs old I disagree..... Therefore DEATH'

Please explain to me how freedom and religion can work ( the former is more moral )

  • @kinkokonko my god, its becoming increasingly clear that you have no knowledge of this subject whatsoever. there are many egyptians who are not muslim, i know some of them. i have been to egypt several times, if a person is raised as a muslim and then rejects it nothing happens. do a little research before you go off on nonsensical rants

  • @ollieeSkate and so Muslim faith and Egypt.... if I had a child it is more sensible and safe to expose them to

    tje boiling ketal

    the iron

    I the dodgy pakie

  • @ollieeSkate My God... lol. Yes Egypt is getting better though not because of the former.

Clearly I do understand the subject or you would not bother. The punishment for not agreeing in a Muslim, Fantastical, Racist and Hitler Type mantra... is Death !

That is the Muslim Religion ? God Bless

Yes you could 'try' Christianity now.. lots of Burning Churches to pick from

I don't physically interfere by my non believe. why do you do so with your belief?

  • @kinkokonko nowhere in the Qran does it say that the punishment for not being a muslim is death, it is only a very few extremist areas where that is true. stop generalizing. again, the sentence "i don't physically interfere my beleive. why do you do so with your beleif?" makes absolutely no sense. this is my last comment wasted on someone who is clearly a moron

  • @ollieeSkate you seem to justify 'oh dont worry we will only break your arm, based on NOTHING'

    FUCKING WAKE UP

    THERE IS NO GOD

  • @ollieeSkate I know it doesn't say anything about it in the Q'ran itself but doesn't it say that leaving islam is a crime condemnable by death in one of the other Islamic holy books? If so which one? Sorry if I'm wrong in this but I genuinely want to know. I do not support any of the racist comments on here by the way, nor do I support Islam or Christianity for that matter - religion does interest me though.

  • @freddiemercerful Your have lots of fiction to read. Don't base your life on it

  • also there have been numerous accounts of prison guards turning a blind eye to, and even deliberately creating rape situations within western prisons.

you are generalising islam as many people do. almost all religious organizations have extremists, and they have commited many terrible atrocities, but don't be so short sighted that you fail to see that your beloved western world is just as bad

  • @ehbsjd i found a bunch of old quotes of his and he said he liked having skinhead fans. he also RECENTLY said that one can't help but feel that the chinese are a SUBSPECIES.

  • I dont believe in God but Morrissey is the nearest thing to a GOD!

  • @BruisedArcade09 he is a God. the fact is there arent many more

  • @ehbsjd well said friend!

  • i think i saw nick griffin somewhere

  • @kelloggcerealxoxo probably in your bed

  • Asia for Asians, Africa for Africans, White countries for Everyone!

You disagree? That means you are a naziwhowantstokill6millionjews!

"Anti-racism" is just a code word for Anti-White.

  • @InternationalRabbit that's fucked up.

  • This is THE BOLLOCKS....

  • Morrissey is using the dramatic device of singing the thoughts and ideas of another person, in this case a young National Front supporter. However it is still Morrissey who sings the immortal line 'England for the English.' No amount of artistic licence or shouts of 'he's being ironic! can change that.

I saw Mozz perform this live when the album was first released. The audience were left in no doubt that Morrissey truly meant every word.

He means it! Only Skrewdriver are more outspoken. 14 words

  • @fatslapperflipflops I was there too and remember the fervour whipped up by this song, people wipping out Union jack flags and going mental. I'm still not sure that Moz, at heart, doesn't feel affection for the character in the song but it's these discussions that make him so interesting as an artist.

  • What a shame that so many fucking idiots have completely missed the irony and sarcasm in this song and have decided to treat "England for the English" as a serious soundbite, get the fuck off this video you cretinous retards.

  • ENGLAND FOR THE ENGLISH!

  • @u6j6506 miss the point

  • Comment removed

  • I love the way he takes fun of the blind international left side!!!!! AH AH AH AH!...To the national, to the national, to the national front disco!

  • this is about all your own insecurities not his, as was'english blood , irish heart' - he's taking the piss on a level above most,,, its kinda obvious tho right,, he can say whatever he wants whether its his view or not just because no one else has the bollocks to say fuck love fuck england -england for the english ,, its genius, get used to it

  • when the song is pro racism, it isn't by the way, why is the mother crying at the end of the song?

  • England for the English.

  • im a british asain. the reason the boy in the song is that bits of his life have been blown away, like chronic unemployment is some areas. he joins the NF, that's where his mum said we lost our boy. how can that be supporting racism. people think morrisey is racist due to ther finsbury park incident, but that was jusr misinterpreted. my cousins met him

  • @ONDERON101 I love morrissey!

  • I love this man

  • My plan was to go to bed early tonight, but I just can't stop watching Morrissey vids.

  • @Splinterrrr Genius. x

  • Because i want the day to come sooner...

  • This song is not racist, hes being witty. But some people clearly have no idea. Stupid idiots.

    MORRISSEY. <3

  • “Also, with the issue of immigration, it’s very difficult, because although I don’t have anything against people from other countries, the higher the influx into England, the more the British identity disappears,”

    -Morrissey

  • @HansBooBee that comment is so fucking right !

  • @HansBooBee how can people from these places i.e. England and most of northern Europe not be a bit racist? Why should they be the haven for countries that people want to basically escape from? These places need to get their act together so they won't be soo miserable. It can mostly be blamed on governments and the basic philosophy of the people...

  • Privately Morrissey knows the score...

It looks like the people of Oldham are quite happy to have muslim paedophile gangs raping white girls.

Results like this seem to show that the sheeple either can't see what's happening in front of them, don't care or are will just blissfully believe anything the the Lib-lab-con tell them.

  • The ridiculous number of people who think that this song is supporting NF/Racism is a mix of hilarious and frightening.

  • This song is about David Mellor, the older brother of Joe "Strummer" Mellor.

He joined the National Front and being stranged by his family.

    David committed suicide in 1970.

  • @floriangeyer72

interesting is true, where is your source for this ?

  • England for the English not the muslims

  • @andewfulluck what about English Muslims?

  • poof

  • David, the wind blows The wind blows ... Bits of your life away Your friends all say ... "Where is our boy ? Oh, we've lost our boy" But they should know Where you've gone Because again and again you've explained that You're going to ... Oh, you're going to ... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah "England for the English ! England for the English !" David, the winds blow The winds blow ... All of my dreams away And I still say : "Where is
  • Love how many people go up just to touch Morrissey, haha!

  • A fantastic piece of music. Nothing more or less and some sad agenda ridden people with views on it. Admit it, the song is feckin fantastic. If you don't like it ignore it.

  • because we must !

  • love ya Moz

  • LOL at him trying to dance. God speed, Mozza!

  • the BNP is a disgusting thing this is merely another of morrissey's small stories, purely to evoke thought! Just like Spring-heeled Jim etc.

    MORRISSEY IS NOT A RACIST!

  • @benjaminrichardshoop Shut up you disgusting vermin.

  • @Iron1023 you're clearly a racist pig then are you not, CUNT

  • The so called 'anti racists' - especially those whose tolerance has never been tested by mass immigration or 'multiculturalism' - should all be put in a cryogenic coma until there is a cure for it. Other than being too English there was nothing wrong with this country or its people, until the traitors decided to flood it with third world people as the only way they could find of destroying it. From the inside. .

  • Multiculturalism is a trojan horse and people like you can be likened to the idiots back in Troy who joyfully wheeled it inside the gates. Only our great gifts is a choice of takeaways, hip-hop, and Ashley Cole. Keep it. I remember when things were good and peaceful and we had all the food, talented musicians, and great footballers we needed. And let's be frank what has multiculuralsm done for our national squad. The only time we ever won the world cup was when we were one people.

  • @rubysson57 Yes and all your great musicians got their inspiration from outer influences. Your argument is contradictory. Nationalism is a tool used to manipulate the ignorant and the weak minded. England for the English! what a load of bullshit! One world! You think all of these immigrants actually want to leave their homes just for the hell of it? they do because they often have to. You would do the same it's called survival. Get off your high horse and be honest for a moment will ya. fuck you

  • And you dont have to talk out from your mothers mouth, you vulgar little guttersnipe.

  • @rubysson57 It's from my own mouth my mother resents swearing, this is far from the point, you are a dirty foul racist scumbag and don't deny it so you can honstlly go and fuck yourself you dirty racist CUNT CUNT CUNT, FUCK THE BNP and FUCK YOU, You're the guttersnipe, anyone who's racist is!!

  • ENGLADN FOR THE ENGLISH that is the probably the best comment ever!.

  • The hilarious bit to me is that Morrissey's parents are Irish

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 I think you're missing the point!

  • he's full Irish blood and he still gets us! we are sick of being called British! we are fucking English and we are the majority who fought for this fucking land!

  • hes fucking irish, hes not racist.

  • @soiusemyfist we're not racists, we're patriots!!!

  • I imagine Morrissey captures the sadness felt by certain contemporary English: a rejection of explicit racism (which is too violent, vicious, vulgar and contrary to notions of fair play) but a distaste for politically correctness, with strong tinges of nationalism (and possibly guilt associated with this feeling), blended with a sense of loss associated with the past and a deep concern about the future of the nation within Britain, Europe and the world at large.

  • @reggie18b

most pc saddos are actually white middle class with either no purpose in life or trying to cause racial tension

  • It's about a boy who joins the National Front.

    That's all it is.

  • Anti-racists think they are so superior. No they aren't. They haven't got a fucking clue about evolution, genetics, racial differences, cultural differences, or indeed anything. They need the word 'racist' because it is the only way of ending arguments they haven't thought out and cannot win. You want a negative belief system? How about anti-racism? Defining yourself by what you don't believe! I wish they would all fuck off to Africa rather than try and inflict their 'tolerance' on us.

  • Is this from Live In Texas ?

  • @ninelivecat If you mean live in Dallas. Then no.

  • hes not racist.

  • It's sad that so many Morrissey fans don't realize he's being ironic here.

    So much racist rubbish.

  • @speranza91986 is he being ironic when he says "its hard enough when you belong here" to the bengali boy?

  • Boring racist talk! Moz is brilliant and if you can't appreciate that then change the channel and find something you do like and be quiet.

  • Comment removed

  • I love Morrissey's music even more after hearing this song. Great lyrics! Respect for anyone who criticizes multiculturalism! Down the drain with all the muzzies and other unemployed non-Britons.

  • @DrRClavan screw you, he is being sarcastic. There is not one person who is 100% english.

  • these comments about morrissey being racist are getting really tiring...

clearly, morrissey is humanising the BNP, and showing how it sucks in naive young people. then he lets you draw your own conclusions about it. that is a more interesting thing to do than simply singing "the BNP is very bad."
