@Jinzune A cab provides space behind the driver or maybe even provide some seating without access via its own doors. A crew cab provides more room for seating and usually has it's own doors for access. You have various options from no cab, regular cab, extended cab, crew cab, or even supercrew cab.
@michoacan684 That's a great question! We presume it's because it was produced by a specialty division of Ford so they wanted to move on to other special projects. I'm sure it was a matter of sales vs. budget vs. new projects in the making. I'm glad to see they brought a high performance F-150 back with the Raptor though!
I think this is a great review for potential buyers like myself. Xterrasesc just wanted to see some idiots in this truck flinging mud or burning tires. I really enjoyed the non-biased review of this truck and the use of both reliable outside sources and your own professional opinions. Excellent review, thanks guys.
@BigWalkinTallV thanks for the great feedback! we've got a lot more of these types of videos (about 100 now) that are making their way into the market. We're even going to launch a site of our own to showcase some of these videos. Subscribe to our channel and you'll be the first to know! Thanks again!
The only thing not noted in this that should have been was the 5.4L spark plug dilemas, '04 - '07 have a habit of breaking off in high miled 5.4Ls only, 2008 they finally redesigned a better spark plug. A good thing to check on when buying one of these trucks used, have the dealer change the plugs as part of the sale.
i was just being bitchy. But the STV Lightning uses a supercharger 5.4L not a 5.8L. i've never seen a manual trany with a 5.4 litre engine. Those are the only things I disagree with, correct me if im wrong?
The 1993 -1995 Ford Lightnings used a Naturally Aspirated 5.8L (351) V8 that made about 240hp. Still enough to get those trucks to 60mph in low 7 seconds. The last generation of Lightnings made in 2003 had a 5.4L Supercharged V8 making 380hp. And I have seen a 5.4L with a manual transmission, (Not a Lightning) The one I saw was a 2001 XL regular cab work truck with a 5-speed stick and the N/A 5.4L 2v 260hp engine.
@xterrasesc can u be more specific? we researched a generation of the f-150 and used jd power data to present this report. any feedback you have is important to us! thanks
