  • J'ai toujours cri à cette dernière partie

  • @rachegotter just because some one is american does not mean that they think that life is all mery and sunshine. Just because some one says les mis is a depressing play does not mean they don't know what hard times are. It is a sad play, it is meant to be. Yes, americans are spoiled. That does not mean they think the world is wonderful

  • Clearly not the tour?!? Not bad for a school production, though I could

skip rope between JV Jean's vibrato, & Fantine was a bit late 4 the trio entrance. Gr8 orchestra! !

  • Is that possibly John Owen Jones? if not, it sounds a lot like him...

  • I might just be getting waaay into the nerdiness of the music, but the difference between chills and no chills is simply the key! Ab FTW!

  • @scottjop656 second to Db though...

  • Is this an amateur production?! Christ,it sounds like cats being dragged over barbed-wire!

  • Its been years since I've seen this musical! I love it! This scene gets me every time. I'm so excited the touring company is coming back to Chicago next year!

  • In the 25th anniversary of this next week at 02!!

So happy cuz this is BLOODY BRILLIANT!!

don't believe me i'm just ensemble my name: abigail. Red hair. 13. Blue eyes.

  • @muggleabz Which sceane were you in? or were you in the back drop chorus bit?

  • i have yet to see this musical and i know i am missing out!

  • Every time I hear the ending of this musical, I get chills, it is so good. I love this fantastic show. I have seen it five times, once on Broadway in NY. Still my favorite!!

  • I am in a production of Les Miserables in Warragul at the moment... We open in May

    BEST musical in the WORLD!!!!

  • I am so glad that I was able to see this on YOUTUBE. It was heartwarming and I loved it . totally...

  • Saw this in June of this year in Pittsburgh...Changed my life!

  • I did this play summer of 2008 and I was crying at this part

  • the best best best musical on the world

  • They held this play in GBS my freshmen year and I horribly regret that I DIDN'T SEE IT. I was blown away by the preview yet didn't buy any tickets. Argh. Glad that i get to see the wonderful bits on youtube here. Gosh, we had some great talent back then.

  • Same here, I did get to go see Les Miserables, but not Wicked yet, think I've seen almost every Elphaba ever on here and read all the books.

  • @palmtree5678 You have to go see Wicked! I saw it in London, absolutely amazing. it'll have you in floods no matter where you go see it.

  • Valjean was not bad but he should learn his lyrics. As an actor who has played Valjean several times, I know it's a hard role, but there's no excuse for any actor to not know his words. It's one thing to slip up. That's forgivable; it happens to the best of us. But it's clear that he was never clear on the lyrics here and I don't understand how you can play a character without knowing your LINES. Anyway, besides that Fantine, Marius, Cosette, Eponine and the ensemble did awesome.

  • aww love this. im currently in the production of les miserables at rabbit run theater in madison, im playing cosette and im always crying in this scene its so sad :[[

  • i looooooooooooooooove this play the music just builds up inside u!!!!!!!!!

  • you can't help bu cry at this song. Both my wife and I did when we saw it on Broadway.

  • OMG i love musiicals and its my dream to be in les miserables or hairspray how do i find out about auditions ???

    veery gooodd xxx

  • Les Miserables and Hairspray both have closed and there are no tours...

  • if you mean on broadway...well they're both off. but if you want to do a community production, you just have to keep checking up on your community theaters. les mis is more popular with community theaters tho.

  • haha blooper

valjean says "your mother gave her life for you then gave me to your keeping"

instead of "then gave you to my keeping"

  • this exactly how the finale should be sung! starting quiet and slow, while building up power and intensity. FAV

  • my favorites are

    -IN THE HEIGHTS!

    - Lion king

    - spring awakening

    - wiked

  • c'mon, at least spell "Wicked" right!

    =]

  • hey that was pretty damn good

  • my favs are

    1. Spring Awakening

    2. Rent

    3. Wicked

    4. Gypsy

  • is this on broadway or in london?

  • London

  • NO it's not London..,Sorry... I don't know what this is... IT sounds EXACTLY like the one at the Grand theatre in London...

  • This is a great comment!!!

  • -Les Miserables

-Sweeney Todd (and not just the movie)

    -The Sound of Music

    -Chicago

    ^^

  • i was in Sweeney Todd!

  • very cool! who were you?

i was recently cast as lily white in "the saloonkeeper's daughter", one of those little musicals that nobody's ever heard of

but i hope to do sweeney todd soon!

  • I Hated it when people say musicals are gay. I need to ask something you no after when he dies who looks after Cosette.

  • Cosette is obviously old enough to look after herself, plus she has a lover/boyfriend who will look after her

  • Maybe I'm crazy but it looks like Cosette is in a wedding dress so hopefully her hubby will take care of her.

  • yes she just got married

  • meh top favs:

    1) le mis

    2) wicked

    3) south pacific

  • Amen

  • I placed phantom and saigon second on my list with Wicked as Third. Wicked is fun but not as epic as Le Mis

  • Mines

    1) Les Mis

    2) Wicked

    3) Avenue Q

  • Aida is one of the best musicals!!! It can be difficult to sing, but the music is beautiful. Haha Verdi is turning in his grave--Johnny One Note!! And Wicked wasn't included because it's so over-rated and isn't even that good.

  • Where was this cast? Is it Broadway?

  • Looks like youve got a good show going on there ;)

Watch My One on my channel :)

  • this has to be my second favorite musical next to phantom of the opera

  • Same here. They're both spectacular!

  • omg. i agree!

  • top the musicals

    1. Les Mis

    2. AIDA

    3. Phantom

  • Aida is a sacrilege.

Verdi is turning in his grave!

  • i loved Elton JOhns Aida..i thought it was beautiful

  • Phantom is my favorite musical of all time.... Les Miserables is the most powerful and emotionally beautiful....Aida- was ok......and not in the same ballpark as the other two heavyweight musical phenomenons

  • a agree completely!!

  • youve missed wicked

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze OMG ME TOO!!!!! NO JOKE!!!!!!! you totally understand me!!!

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze im totally the same!!!!

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze Two FRENCH stories, FRENCH musicals, set in FRANCE.

  • @Rachegotter Oh God. Add Hunchback of Notre Dame and that's 3 French stories and depressing musicals.

    WTH, FRANCE?!?!

  • @sworebythestars Unlike what Americans would have you believe, life's not always a merry sunshine.

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze Agreed!!

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze I only prefer Les Miz to Phantom because it's a lot less depressing. I mean, "and all men shall have their reward" and happiness or "it's over now, the music of the night" and the Phantom is depressed forever?

LES MISERABLES, I CHOOSE YOU! xD

  • @sworebythestars since I posted that comment long ago I'd have to say this has moved up to my favorite musical. I really love depressing stories though :)

I'm a bit sick of phantom though, I was just in it you see and you can only rehearse Masquerade so many times before going insane xD

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze This has been my favorite for a looong time. xD It's just so... so... beyond words awesome. And it is kinda depressing, too! So... eh. BUTILOVESIT. And I saw the US tour in June and ohmygod... Jeremy Hays... can I keep him? He's as close to Book!Enjy as Musical!Enjy can get!!

D'aww. x'D Masqueraaaade... paper faces on paraaade...

  • Went to see this in London and loved every min of the show...cried like a baby and couldnt talk to anyone when we left...very powerfull...very moving.

  • Am I Right In Saying One Of The Most Powerful Westend Shows Ever?

Very Moving! Loved Every Minute Of It.

Auditioning For Les Mis September =]

    xxx

  • me and my friends went to see les mis and we practically had to wade out because everyone had been crying soooo much when like, everyone died.

  • Took the kids to see this live.

    Knocked our socks off.

  • Amazing.

  • Who is playing Valjean in this clip?

  • i did this in my performing arts class. i apsolutly love these two songs. DO you here the people sing. I had to be the person who led the song. god lol memorys. i miss it :(

    x

  • i ALWAYS cry at this scene.

    ='[

love this so so so so so much.

  • Strange: he sang "your mother gave her life for you and gave ME to YOUR keeping ! I have seen this show 10 times and it used to be: and gave you to my keeping !!!!!1 Stagefright maybe ?

  • LOL! Yeah must have been a bit nervous and slipped up the line. ;)

  • why don't you film it then? yeah. that's what i thought.

  • a) I wasn't there

    b) It has already passed

until you find me a way to break the laws of time and physics, I'm not going to.

  • then stop bitching about other people's camera skills.

  • hey this was really amazing !!!

  • hey this was really amazing !!!

  • When I was watching it I thought it was a professional production. You guys are amazing!

  • My favorite song from the musical and you guys were right on!! Very well done!

  • Sorry, I marked my comment as spam, it's not. I pressed the wrong button..

    Great job!!!!

    Amazing!

  • I think this was my high school! I'm almost sure of it! I recongize the voice of Marius!

Brentwood High produced it in 2003 when I was a freshman but I was in first year choir so I couldn't preform in it. I think I hear my boyfriend's voice somewhere in the choir...

Brentwood High, TN is redoing Les Miserables again this Spring 2008!

Too bad I'm in college now...:(

  • cool i am doing les miserable it is truly amazing. JUST AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry this is the glenbrook musical in glenview, illinois

  • the only thing i would say would be for d music to be slower at the beginning when valjean is singing.... nonetheless, fantastic!!! loved it!! cosette and fantine - spot on!!! xxxx

  • wat musical society is this?? Its amazing.... we did a production of les mis... i was cosette.. check it our through my channell.... xxxx

  • Is This Seriously Highschoolers?!

Omg If It Is Im So Happy

There Is Intead Hope For The Future

    I Kno That Sounds Dramatic

    But Its True

Take A Look At The World

    It Sux!!!

  • That is magnificent!

  • If these are High Schoolers, there is hope yet. :)

  • Amazing, minus "gave me to your keeping"

  • Beautiful. Just beautiful. If these are our future actors and actresses, then the theatre industry will continue to live on.

  • "gave me to your keeping" heheheeheh

    lovely ending though

  • High-schoolers?!?! AWESOME!!!! There's hope for us all, if this is our next generation. Go get 'em, Glenbrook!

  • Amazing. Would you put up "One Day More"?

  • holy crap

    this was amazing!

  • wow fantine is sooo good X

  • Seriously, that's a high school? That was amazing!

  • I think the pit got a little carried away in the end.

    I couldn't hear the words.

  • pits tend to do that :P

half the pit was in the all-state production, and we knew the parts forwards, backwards, sideways...which might explain why...

we did have mics in the pit too tho, so that probably didn't help.

  • this is glenbrook south high school

  • where was this???

  • Definitely one of the better high school performances I've seen on YouTube. Too bad the videographer was so poor. You all sounded good though.

  • OH. MY. GOD. You are all incredible. Whenever I see Les Mis, Cosette's reaction to the note gets me every time...I start tearing up, feeling her emotion...losing her father...putting myself in that same position. So sad...but God, it's the best musical and story in the world. Never will there be such a touching story of love, life, redemption, and death.

  • I couldnt sum it up any better just pure emotion

  • Thank you! =) This musical is just...wow. The best thing to ever reach human ears and hearts. I cried for ten minutes straight after I finished the book!

  • i know our school did this play and i was in it but i cant tell if this is us or not

  • the taping i s poor and what is the name of the school that did this play?

  • It's a high school production, watch the other videos, it's fairly obvious.

  • This is not Lea Salonga for sure

  • You guys are funny, this is my high school. I played thenardier, not in this cast though.

  • I don't think it's a professional production as Valjean's has a black waistcoat. Normally he just has a white shirt.

  • I dont think its the revival, music sounds to canned

  • Wait! Forget that! Her hair is brown, and could be Lea.

    Ah, What do I know.

  • I don't think it's a revival version. Fantine's hair is blonde, and the revival's wig is brown due to Daphne Ruben Vega and Lea Salonga. Also, Fantine sounds too good to be Daphne, and doesn't sound like Lea at all.

  • amazing

  • terrible quality but is this the revival people?
