@nireen777 Green Teas is not a cross reactor...caffeine is not the cross reacting compound. It's the protein in Coffee. ...Green tea is a TH2 booster, and if you don't need a TH2 boost, it can make you worse.
You are absolutely RIGHT! At least in my case I am Gluten-Free and noticed that 1 cup of coffee in the morning was causing all the same symptoms that Gluten does. Kudos on making the connection and sharing it.
@nireen777 Yes, it does. The protein will still be absorbed to some degree. Granted, the absorption of the protein would be more likely in the SMALL intestine, not the lower intestine where the enema would have it's effect.
I have been off coffee for 2 months now, the first 3 weeks are a bit rough, after being a fairly steady coffee drinker for 20 years-Been on several diets over the past 5 years to deal with bloating and candida, vegetarian-alkaline worked wonders, but still had horrible bloating and years of facial eczema, can't see a doctor in my country, but now I am just now aware of the Gluten discussion and am now going to go gluten free....wish me luck, good videos here!
I'm GF & have quit coffee (for about a yr now). I realize u r not a fan of sugar... but is it the coffee (i.e. the protein in the coffee) or the caffein? I am wondering if chocolate (I only consume GF chocolate) could be cross-reactive if on a GF diet (since there's caffein in it)? Any idea?
@carmadon5 The PROTEIN is the cross-reaction problem. However, the caffeine and the flavonoids boost the TH2 immune system. If you are autoimmune already--and a TH2 boost is not what you need -- you'll feel bad from that mechanism.
@gwgblue Yes, they do offer a coffee sensitivity test. The assumption is that if you have elevated antibodies -- 1. you have or have had a leaky gut 2. You are cross-reacting. However, that are not testing for actual cross-reacting with THAT test. The cross reaction discovery came from lab studies. It is my understanding that the Cyrex food sensitivity test is not the same technology as what was used to discover the phenomenon. I could be wrong, though.
i knew this, but i couldn't manage to get off coffee completely so far. but now i i slowly get worse again on my gluten, dairy and egg free diet, and will probably have non choice than looking into all the cross reactors.. i certainly am sensitive to many other cross reacors like corn, rice, potatoes, etc.. so that wouldn't really be any surprise.
@awaken69 JUst to clarify, cross reaction is a specific phenomenon in which the gluten antibodies bind to these food antigens. Corn, rice and potatoes are not cross reactors in that sense. They ARE commonly developed food sensitivities when going from gluten to gluten-free. Why? Gluten sensitivity causes leaky gut--if you go gluten-free and eat alt grains -- WITHOUT healing the leaky gut---there's a HIGH probability you'll develop food sensitivities to many of those new foods.
Ok, one more question. What about green tea. It does have cafine in it, so would this be a cross reaction?

Hi, I have a question. What if your only using coffee for an enema, does this cross react also?
