I have always loved this couple and of course Shen & Zhao. Interestingly, I have always thought of Pang and Tong as very Balletic. They both look like they have studied ballet with their great positions and extensions. Whatever the bias of the judges it is always good to hear that commentators and fans really appreciate them, from wherever in the world we are from. You can really hear how these British commentators love this program. And they did very well this season!
Yes , because there are so many countries in Europe they often hve a majority of judges on a panel. Thi sallows them to have more control of results. I'm sure some are judging fairly.....but just look at that '02 Olympic scandel surrounding France and Russia in judging. And the "block judging horror of '98's Olympic dance event!!
personally, I think before pang and tong gave out this performance, the judges already kept a prejudice in mind: J and R is such a popular, traditionally and classically western love story so this is not pang and tong's music and style at all. therefore when they judged, they would be very strict to every element pang and tong performed in this program.

the judges have been unfair to this couple for YEARS even until recently in Vancuver Olympics. I still don't think they gave them fair score in sp.
as for this worlds competition, I think the judges just can't accept a fact that there could be an asian pair being able to perform as well (elegant with beautiful slim lines and height etc.) as an european/white pair or even better. :)

ONLY 5th place for this brilliant programm??!!! This makes me once again don't like figure skating, caus' it's such unfair judging system. It's sad that they don't get the scores they deserve. 5th place ridiculous!
I can't believe they didn't finish higher. They have the most elegant lines and such a smooth flow when they skate. I think they are really expressive together, and it looks really nice caus' they look both slim and tall, almost build the same way. They have great throwjumps and great program too. I love their flow on te ice. No other pair skate like them.
The Zhangs are technically more supreme in their skills. But skills and elegance doesn't coincide sometimes.
This pair is better in interpreting the music, blending into it, and they have better chemistry.
Sometimes, you need more than just supreme techniques... you also need to install a soul into the programme, just like letting the audiences feel the skaters have emmersed themselves right into the music and telling a story.
They were robbed. they got very ridiculous deductions by the jugles. Only got less than 1 point for each of their 2 opening jumps!!! Also their other elements were undermarked!!!WHY???
lol, ur second reason is actually more reasonable than the first.. second chinese pair? Wern't they the second already when Shen/Zhao were skating? And they're still second? Personally I think they're A LOT better than ZZ. (just the overall package) and..well, u dont have to agree with me, but im just saying...
They were really unfairly pushed down to the 5th place. They skating skills and lines are a way better than Zhang&Zhang and the program is beautiful .

This Chinese pair just won silver medal at 2010 Winter Olympics with a perfect and beautiful long program! A well deserved medal.

Well jumps were fairly deducted for her underrotations more than 1/4. Other elements were undermarked since they have been the second chinese pair.
