do you have any suggestions on using the janome sew machine? I can't get the "loop" and if i do get it, the thread from needle keeps poping out! HELP!
Fabric right side to right side match bag bottom seam to side seam flatten fabric to form a point. Measure 1 " or more up from tip draw straight line from fabric edge to edge. Cut on drawn line. discard the traingle of fabric. hope thats clear if not let me know. Like that you have bag turning hole at bottom not top of bag like I've done. Going to do it your way next time MUCH neater result.
Divide the ruffle before you gather it, into 4th's and mark with pins. Also mark the half way point on front and back of bag. Gather ruffle then match ruffle pins and bag pins and bag side seams. Spread ruffles evenly between each secton. This helps spread the ruffles evenly around purse. This may not be that important on small items BUT a lifesaver on larger items.
I would love to know the collection name of the fabric you are using, I love this purse and fabric

very cool. I might make a ruffle bag for my daughter and a non ruffle for myself.

With some extra padding and a zipper, this would make a really cute laptop case. :-)

An easier way to do the corners is:
Fabric right side to right side match bag bottom seam to side seam flatten fabric to form a point. Measure 1 " or more up from tip draw straight line from fabric edge to edge. Cut on drawn line. discard the traingle of fabric. hope thats clear if not let me know. Like that you have bag turning hole at bottom not top of bag like I've done. Going to do it your way next time MUCH neater result.

Ruffle Tip!
