  • My hair is starting to come back after six months of chemo. I liked wearing wigs before. So, people really could not tell the difference. But, I did not realize how much I would miss my hair. It gets a little thicker every week, so I am hopeful that before I know it, I will have a nice head of hair. Loved your video, it is very encouraging.!

  • Breast cancer march 2011. Losing my hair was devastating but I watched your video and WOW I feel so much better. My hair is growing back and I feel good and look good Thank God for you!!!!

  • Loved the video

  • It's only hair. It's gonna come back. You can save on shame-poo and con-ditioner. The real beauty is on the inside. Hair does NOT make the person you are. What's in your heart does. Hair is material. Don't let anyone tell you any different. Your a hero in my book! God Bless.

  • Nearly finished my treatment for hodgkins, 15 year old boy and cannot wait :P

  • Yes! After four years I've still kept my hair short, even though it was way long to begin with. My stylist and I call it Edgy.

And yes, it was really traumatic to lose it. I'm still angry at the health care professionals who said get over it. Yes, they were right (it got better "relatively" quickly), but that didn't mitigate the trauma of losing all of your beutiful hair overnight, as if in a nightmare.

  • You are fucking gorgeous. I went through chemo last year and losing my hair was way more traumatic than I ever imagined. It's back now. Short and sassy : )

  • hodgkins patient i cant wait for my locks to grow back OMFG

  • Im still bald! ha just got done with hodgkins chemo about a month ago. very little fuz. how far apart were each clips?

  • i love your hair! i hope you are doing well. i'm waiting for my hair to grow back. take care of yourself and good luck!

  • you are a sweetheart! God Bless you.

  • waiting for my hair too!

  • Beautiful

  • Thank you for your video. I start my treatment in a few days and was only diagnosed a month ago. So the hair thing is pretty hard for me to swallow- i am supposed to loose it on my birthday and my hair is really long. God bless -you are beautiful.

  • Every morning I would kid around with my children and ask them if my hair grew at all overnight! Your color and texture looked similar to mine. I wasnt thrilled about my gray so I colored it and it looks great.

Good luck to you and thanks so much for your video. P.S I had to laugh because when i first started your video I thought something was wrong with my volume......lol :)Laurie

  • I finished my chemo in the middle of September and I started to get stubble on Sept. 28, 2009. I wish I videotaped my growth like you did. You video reminded me so much of how my hair grew back.....even how you were touching your hair and really taking a good look at yourself and smiling.

  • I feel much better now watching your video ...you gave me hope.

  • I finished chemo about a month ago, and am just waiting for the hair to grow. I have to tell you that your vide gave me such hope during the low days, and is still giving me hope. Thank you so much.

  • thanx i just did abvd treatment for lymphoma and i always feel like my hair isnt growing back quick enough. but now i see that it will it just takes a while

  • yes! It does come back. I thought it never would. Now there's too much of it! I decided I liked it short (it was very long when I lost it) and keep cutting it back.

    I hope you're doing well!

  • You are so beautiful!

  • Congrats, I'm sooo happy for you!!! Stay in good health ; )

    Cindy

  • its true what they say hair is beauty, i would like to ask you if you also lose eyelashes and eyebrows.

  • They got a bit thinner but I really didn't lose them. Sometimes it happens, though.

  • but do the eyelashes look the same as they were before.

  • yes!

  • Thanks so much!

    You also must have courage.

    That's what gets us through.

    LOVE

  • My hair started coming out in handfuls this week as I took my second chemo for Hodgkin's. Prolly going to have to shave this week. This video is inspiring! And, you look beautiful! Thanks for posting!

  • Good luck! I hope you enjoy the freedom from hair! I still had some hair for a long time and didn't shave it (the comb-over look). It wasn't until I could see new hair coming in (almost a month after stopping chemo) that I finally shaved it. Very liberating! Thanks for you comment!

  • Thanks, again. I showed this to my mama today. She is a hair dresser for nearly 50 years. Only today did I ask her and realize that she has NEVER shaved a head for chemo - or any reason - before. I will be her first. She has had clients that lost a lot, but still kept some. At the rate I am going, I may not last the week with any left. She is my rock, and this is a tough thing for both of us gussied up where ever we go gals! And, southern women and their hair . . . . LAWD! Both inspired

  • WOW that was incredible!!! Was this a week by week progression?? I'm 2 weeks post chemo and finally getting some eyelashes. :) I think I should take pics like that too. :)

  • i so hope your doing fine...big hugs

  • can't wait to run my fingers through my hair like that!

    thanks so much.

  • INSANELY INSPIRING!!!!

  • You are beautiful! I'm also a breast cancer survivor and have completed chemo at the end of August. Your video reminds me that there is life after cancer. The excitement I feel about hair regrowth is a sign of healing. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video.

  • this video made me smile :)

  • you are a very beautiful woman. i hope you are well.

  • Your video made me cry. I had my last chemo treatment today (Hodgkins lymphoma) and will be starting radiation soon. I'm bald as a pool cue right now and can't wait to shove all my bandanas deep, deep into a drawer! Your smile is radiant and the video is beautiful. Thanks so much for staying faithful to the project and posting this for all of us who need to hear that "every little thing will be alright." Love and hope to you.

  • thanks for the video.are you really 55,you look way younger maybe 40.anyway good luck.

  • Beautiful. Stay strong.

  • Wow. Look at you. Congratulations! You're beautiful.

  • I love your video, the music is great! I have watched it several times, I am so impatient for my hair to grow back. I am 2 months post chemo after breast cancer. Your video made me smile, thanks!

  • Thanks for posting this. I've watched it several times over the last few months for inspiration. Now that I'm done with chemo I'm trying to figure out how long it was between segments in your video?, so I can tell how fast to expect my hair to grow in. Good luck to you.

  • Hi! Don't be discouraged. It took a bit longer to start growing back than I expected (I never did lose it all, but I lost a bunch after I stopped chemo--yipes). The pictures, at the beginning at least, were taken every week--on Sundays. I was pretty religious about it. Had to make sure I was wearing the same thing and that the background clutter was pretty much the same.

Congratulations to you! I'm really glad this helped you. Thank you for telling me.

  • Thanks! :-)

  • I Love your hair short and curly. I am finishing up my chemo in 2 weeks. I am soooo sick of being bald. and The wig feels awful. I also had waist length hair before chemo and that was just another kick in the behind along with everything else. I admire your strength and my other BC sisters for keeping it together during this challenging time in our lives. God Bless and keep the Faith.. Now lets see what the hair looks like all styled :O)

  • Thanks! Did you see the post right before you where someone said "I liked with no hair better"? In some weird way it's very liberating (a sadly discredited word these days) to be without that thing that's added to our lives. My seventy-something stepmother has waist-long hair, and she's pretty much a slave to it, now, when she deserves retirement. Funny. Losing the hair was almost the worst thing then, but now I'm glad for it!

  • i liked with no hair better

  • Love your video, waiting on my hair to grow after chemo. It's week five for me. Your video inspires me. How often did you video? I'm thinking once a week. Looks like it is curly. Was it curly before? You have a fantastic smile. Thanks for the video!!

  • Thanks for the great video. So, how much's one gotta wait (chemo-less) since stopping chemo till recovering the previous 60 cm straight hair?

  • Don't know. I discovered I like mine short (it's always been long). I haven't updated the video because I keep cutting it again!

  • Beautiful! X

  • Youtube: live blood analysis following chemotherapie.

  • thank you so much for this! i watched your video while going through chemo. it gave me hope. it's been 4 months since my last treatment and i have thick curly hair! i would love to see a follow up. take care.

  • thanks for posting this.

I liked watching the hair grow, but more noticeable was how much the smile grew!

    :)

  • awesome that it started to grow

  • thanks for taking the time to make this video.

    Love your hair!

  • hair or no hair you are an extremely gorgeous woman and i think everyone can see the glow inside of you. rock on!

  • I'm glad it helped. It's really devastating when it happens, and everyone says it will be okay, but at the time it's not at all okay. But trust me, it WILL be okay. I'm doing very well now--better even than before I learned I had cancer! Good luck to you and your wife. I'm sure she appreciates your support.

  • Thanks for posting - my wife just started losing her hair this week - two weeks after her first treatment - she has long, thick gorgous hair - it will grow back, I hope.

Your post brought us hope, a way to cope. May God bless you and I hope you find health and happiness

  • sorry to say, but that chemo shit's a scam--you got poisoned for nothing--sunlight is the natural cure for all cancers.

  • You're a complete idiot, and that you'd say this to a survivor probably just bought you some bad karma.

I'm only hoping you won't face the decisions this person had to face, and have your own diagnosis. Imbeciles like you make the internet a disgusting place, keep your shitty comments to yourself.

  • (This was a reply to the fool that said the person making this video was "Scammed" and that it's toxic (no duh! Did you go to med school to learn that?) and that SUNLIGHT is the "natural cure for all cancers"

UGH! Such ignorance--please forgive my anger!!

  • Just check out this guys videos..he obviously has been smoking something. Sunlight huh? Pretty sure that causes uh....cancer? Chemo works, much better than sunlight! I certainly wish you would have just shown some dignity and not left such a stupid remark to a woman who is doing so well. Put down the pipe, and think!

  • I guess you never heard about melanoma or basal cell carcinoma. Or maybe you think they are "natural"Enjoy the sun! total eclipse tomorrow in the Gobi desert. Good thing you aren't there. You'd lose your cure if you were. Zap!!!

  • oops. this post is for Red Paul ,not Djogba

  • best song ever well nearly i like dont worry be happy just a little bit better lol

  • Thank you for posting this video.. I needed it, it made me smile & showed some hope!

  • Is your hair the same texture and colour as it was before chemo?

great video by the way. :)

  • Same color, but much curlier. My hair was a bit wavy, but nothing like the curl I have now.

    thanks for watching!

  • inspiring

  • I love Love LOOOOVE your eyes ^_^
