I go with the second person; the Corvette ZR1 is the best corvette ever.....hands down. Chevrolet has done an amazingly job with the corvette ZR1 best ZR1 since the 1994 Corvette ZR1. The 6.2L V8 has passed on to the cadillac CTS-V, and the new 2012 Camaro ZL1; although the same engine is shared by cadillac, but it's based on the corvette.
Stop calling the Corvette a MUSCLE car. It is NOT a muscle car. Muscle cars are all about big power without much emphasis on the chassis and everything else that goes along with a SPORTS car. The ZR1 is a SPORTS car (also interchangeable with SUPERCAR due to its performance).

Sure the ZR-1 is a nice car. But it is far from European standards concerning electronics and luxury. You must have a lot of driving skills to drive the ZR-1 fast. Most of us will hit a tree and die trying to. On the other hand, everyone can give full throttle on European cars and be safe. If the ZR-1 had to equal European cars, it would be a lot slower.

The ZR1 is relativly new whereas European model become old : 2003-2005 models. They are faster and offer much more luxury than American cars. To compete, Americans can only make cheap-made cars with lotta HP turbo engines. Fact.

@coolibooli5 Are you high? If the driver at all knows what he's doing a ZR1 will crucify a GTR. This was debatable a year and half ago but the ZR1 is the better performing car with less assists, making it a more challenging car to drive, which in the end yields to a better reward.
@ellisfreedman I agree the interior does not have to be as good as Mercedes or BMW. But it should at least have as nice materials and fit and finish as say a current buick. The current interior is little better than the last rental cavalier. And every single review complains about the crappy seats in the corvette because they don't have any support and they don't hold you in on sharp curves. REALLY? On a car designed to do over 1G in the turns. It doesn't have to be a luxury interior.

@chrissoubibi By the way the Lamborghini Aventador is not faster than a Mosler Mt900 (An american made stuper car) and if you look inside a Aventador it doesn't look any more "luxurious" than a corvette, also there are many american supercar manufacturers like Mosler and Devon that are not as recognized like GM or Ford or Chrysler and yet they manage to build better cars than Lamborgini and Ferrari or Porsche. The point is, its stupid to say Americans can't build supercars, because they can.

@chrissoubibi You do realize the corvette isn't made of plastic, the corvette has never been made of plastic since the 1950's the corvette has been made of fiber glass... The new corvette is made of both fiber glass and carbon fiber, for example, the fenders, the hood, the roof, the splitter and the rocker extensions are all made of carbon fiber. Interior wise the dash board is made of flastic, but the r8 isn't any different. I wanna know who told you the corvette is made of plastic?

People complain about the tacky interiors in Vettes but they don't know that the whole point of a muscle car is that they are so the working man can afford them. Who cares about the interior when your driving the car fast? Those who care are the noobs who buy a nice car just to be seen in it. I guess if i strutted around all day in my R8 i'd want the interior to be epic. But those people don't buy Vettes, instead they drive them the way they were intended to be driven.

@coolibooli5 Are you high? If the driver at all knows what he's doing a ZR1 will crucify a GTR. This was debatable a year and half ago but the ZR1 is the better performing car with less assists, making it a more challenging car to drive, which in the end yields to a better reward.

@ellisfreedman I agree the interior does not have to be as good as Mercedes or BMW. But it should at least have as nice materials and fit and finish as say a current buick. The current interior is little better than the last rental cavalier. And every single review complains about the crappy seats in the corvette because they don't have any support and they don't hold you in on sharp curves. REALLY? On a car designed to do over 1G in the turns. It doesn't have to be a luxury interior.

@sexytwin69 It's not so much poor spelling as improper use of English. You use words like 'dat', you spell what 'wat', and you don't use proper capitalization. It just comes off as unintelligent. Caps lock, on the other hand, is a technique mostly associated with younger people (thus, less educated/intelligent), around 10 or so years old to about 14 or 15, and is simply childish.

@TVRnGTR No but actually I looked it up and ugh...Lol. 1580BHP 0-60 in 2.3 seconds and maxes out at 234mph? So...For $200k more you could own a car that would get completely raped by a Callaway Sledgehammer, LingenFelter427TT, and Bank's T/A? Yah, that's hard core....Oh btw all those cars I listed are street cars, the 917 is a pure race car.

@TVRnGTR Lol dude, you're so stupid this has become entertaining. You need to specify because 0-100km/h is fast but not even close to the record. Barubus can do it in 1.7, both LPE shoot out cars can do it in 1.9. The ZL-1 phase 1 can do it in 2.1. And thousands of drag cars do it under 2 seconds on a daily basis. The ZR1 has award winning independant suspension! So...leaf springs huh? Have you ever even driven a car? I really don't think you have at this point.
