  • now THAT was cool.

  • O.O

Your right hand is so fluid when picking, I haven't been so impressed by a youtube video like this for a long time!

  • awesome playing man you're technique is insaine, ive got a cover of this song on my channel if you get time then have a look :)

  • very nice! :)

  • great but the intro was way fast as compared to orignal , slow down a little

  • speed sux, clean it up first.

  • Blast, I wanted to hear how he did the last chord of that piece like it was in the movie. But wow for the playing.

  • work on the flow you can play it just be sure your in time :C

  • link is right..gotty is probably one of the cleanest players around and he actually manages to play this incredibly difficult passage faster than the ear could ever possibly appreciate...this is genuine talent

  • too fast

  • Gotty, if you slow down to the proper speed, you'll be able to play this great solo with accuracy and in a clean manner. There's no rush here. Do it again. You have the skill.

  • @NoirHammer Your ears must be broke he plays this extremely clean. Not sure what your ears are hearing.

  • @neoclasiccl I'm not saying the whole piece is unclean but I'm surprised as a player yourself, your ears can't pick up what I'm referring to. I guess you should use the blindfold technique and use your broken ears to "really" listen to each note. I don't know what else to tell you.

  • @NoirHammer Well I slowed it down 75% and only heard maybe 2 or 3 bum notes so I'd say that's pretty clean. I have some pretty advanced audio editing programs with let me slow it down but keep the same pitch and I beg to see someone play it cleaner.

  • @neoclasiccl And that's all I'm referring to. Two or three bum notes. My ears are sensitive because I used to rely on them when I used to play, because I didn't want to learn how to read music and not every song had a tablature sheet. To be fair, this is the best version out there but he's in a hurry to show off. If he just slightly slowed it down a bit, it would be perfect. A lot of other covers suck because the players can't execute the arpeggios properly.

  • grande

  • great pick sweeping technique... how you mentally prepare for something like that I can't even imagine. That is what happens when you really practice your ass off for years and enjoy doing it!! Well Done!!

  • wua very nice

  • best version i've seen. some of you people crack me up like he couldn't play it slower if he wanted to. sounds way better like this. even vai played it faster live than in the movie. hearing this made me want to learn this again.

  • TE ALIMENTAS SOLO CON ALPISTE?

  • That was sweet brother ! ~DIS-I-LIKE~ Thumbs Up....

  • impressive but played WAY TOO FAST!! if it were slower it would be better..

  • The best cover on youtube...

  • WAY to fast... moving on...

  • im speechless... this is perfect

  • @PWhiteyBojanglez Actually it's not. At 0:45 he doesn't get it right. And he plays some other notes in the first arpeggios.....

  • really good,cheers

  • Suonare QUEL PEZZO, con una muta di 011 ACCORDATA STANDARD, CON ACTION ALTA E TASTI INCAVATI,E COL PICK UP AL PONTE SELEZIONATO, e suonarlo in quel modo a dir poco meraviglioso, beh potevi riuscirci solo tu!!!!!!Grande Gottyboy!!!!!!!!

  • stupendo Crossroads is a 1986 film starring Ralph Macchio, Joe Seneca and Jami Gertz, inspired by the legend of blues musician Robert Johnson.

    con steve vai

  • @Fate0fTheArt There's nothing tasteful about the piece, so quit hating.

  • He's using a string damper! Sorry, but that's cheating.

  • @Atomic22X congratulations....you got a flaw...damper is for 8 finger tapping :)

  • why the fark do people dislike this?? cause it's played faster than the original!?! who cares! it's soclean and accurate!

  • I think it sounds fucking bad ass when its played this fast but it would be better with HEAVY distortion

  • A little fast but obviously great

  • the 49 bad falification is of players that cant play this at 10bpm or more tempo.this is mazing !!

  • I give up! :D

  • What kind of trem/nut setup do you use?

  • Prefer Vai's, but your interpritation is still good :D . And Your skills are crazy :o

  • It seems as usual, that people that don’t posses this kind of talent (included) like to find ways to rip apart guitarists that do. Does it make you feel better? So you can’t do what he can do, GET OVER IT! Sweep or alt pick, finger style or with a frickin’ bow! Are there rules in music, none I’m aware of. Theory is one thing, but music is from inside, how each of us express it is what makes it interesting. If everyone did it exactly the same why bother listening to anyone but the original

  • First of all. Steve vai didn't sweep. He use an alternate picking technique. ( how did I figure it out ?. ) .. you can hear his picking technique when you slow down the song .

  • I knew this was gonna be perfect before clickin ahhh

  • Best minute of my day, thanks!

  • too fast like ur girlfriend says.

  • i guess we'll never know for sure how vai played this piece, but i am one of the people that thinks he used alt picking strictly during the first arpeggios, its just something about the way they sound, very clear and empathic that leads me to believe that

  • He's just like Satriani achieves high speed with legato...

  • Comment removed

  • COOL SWEEP U MASTER THE TECHNIQUE , BUT THIS WAS ALTERNATE MY FRIEND , SO TRY AGAIN

  • @rudessdfdf How do you figure that, you can't see him play that part on the movie unless your watching Ralffy

  • @vox1003 because it sounds

  • @rudessdfdf your just guessing, nowbody can tell especially with vai's technique

  • @vox1003 well actually vai isnt an anternate player .. he is more into the leggato phrasing .. but im pretty sure he alternated that time .. but whatever play etb as u wish .. what matters is that souds good

  • nie no, wykonanie super ;]]

ale nie rozumiem dlaczego zawsze w parze do tego musi być noga na nogę, jak by sie nie miało jaj, sweter z najnowszej kolekcji i nienaganna postura...

i palce jak śmierć brrrr ;]]

  • haha Fucking awesome))

  • @Fate0fTheArt I know what you mean here. Thing is it's just this piece. His own music is teeming with maturity and grace and emotion.

  • i think you are definately playing it faster than normal speed

  • Wicked !

  • Don't listen to these fuckheads gottyboy; that was fucking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You played it FASTER and FLAWLESSLY. I can play this cleanly only at about 90% normal speed.

  • Sei veramente un grande!!!

  • Fuck yeah!

  • GRANDIOSO!!! Una pulizia incredibile nonostante la difficoltà dei passaggi finali

  • You smile at the top of each sweep. Priceless. Killer playing too. :D

  • when i play guitar i look quiet but i feel my music

we don't have to dance to show that we love our music and this version of eugene's trick bag i really good

  • I think it's sad that the highest rated comment is a negative one (although balanced with positive remarks). Daniele demonstrated his ability to play the piece, and in no way did he actually say he wanted to perform it with feeling and passion. His talent is godlike, and how can you say he plays like a robot when he has produced one of the most beautiful and balanced instrumental albums of all time? Buy Frenzy of Ecstasy and keep your jealousy of this guitar-demigod away from the public.

  • @Alexiaden93 "no where did he say he wanted to perform it with feeling and passion"

why would you NOt want to perform something with feeling and passion

  • @MjXllcommando Some pieces aren't meant to be emotional, but technical and impressive, in fact very many etudes composed by the greats were only ways of becoming popular through technique. Paganini's 5th Caprice (featured in this song) is one of them, and also The Flight of the Bumblebee.

I have nothing against emotional playing, but it's becoming a clichée among so many listeners to denounce musicians for having no emotion. The emotion is within the LISTENER, not only the musician.

  • @Alexiaden93 true, but at the tempo hes playing it, its hard to pinpoint the rhythm or the melody.

  • @MjXllcommando Too quick for you? o.O ;)

  • @Alexiaden93 honestly you sound like a fan boy in no way is his talent godlike because no one has godlike talent because no one is god exept for god

  • @houseofaction Let's try to keep religion and music separate. I described him as a guitar-demigod, which in no way refers to the Christian religion, but a more mythological one. What's wrong with being a fan boy by the way? This guy deserves every fan he has, and countless more.

  • @Alexiaden93 I know the way he tends to play most of the time, and lemme tell you that he's boring, no jealousy sir, he just doesn't transmit the passion and the feeling you're talking about, or at least it doesn't work on me, sadly most of the little boys who start to play the guitar they all wanna be shredders like him, leaving out the fact that music is not a matter of being faster than the others or showing off your technique cause you think your style is the best, that's the whole point

  • @chojinkid Have you even listened to his album? If Guitar Sbrego doesn't satisfy your need for slow and passionate playing then you must surely be out of your mind saying jealousy is not a factor.

  • @Alexiaden93 yep and I don't like it, I'm not saying I don't like fast players, I do like fast players but I don't like him, he just lacks of feeling and personality, he plays on exercises, and I'd add that what he does is nothing new, many guitarists did that way long before him, so I don't really understand all this fuss about gottardo, there are many better guitarists in italy than him.

  • @chojinkid I like Milan Polak and Marco Sfogli, and I truely don't care about speed. I like players for their music, and Gottardo happens to play awesome music. Of course not everyone will agree with me, so I will let you have your own tastes.

  • Comment removed

  • @Fate0fTheArt thats just a demonstration, why don't you people watch his other videos before writing a comment lik this.

  • just me, or does everyone who can play guitar properly have fucking long fingers? Oh well, I'll take my stumpy ones back to rock'n'roll then

  • @Fate0fTheArt somewhat agree here, but still, great playing, good tone too, dig the strat

  • holy crap you are a god

  • too bad.. steve vai didn't sweep..

  • is it my eyes or is your frets scapploed.

  • @Fate0fTheArt

I totally agree with you, finally somebody is talking sense !

  • Perfect as always.

  • pretty awesome wudda sounded better if ya slowed it down a bit :D

  • damn, you can play but you didn't give me any time to appreciate the sound.

  • rpz parabéns vc é muitoo fodaa veii! to bestaa com isso um novoo yngwie está surgindoo aii.....um salve da galera do BRASIL

  • scalluped neck?

  • sei davvero in gamba wuaglioò :D

  • dude that was good but you rushed through it man

  • excellent!!!

each note has played very clear

  • perfect

    he´s a genius...

    um genio...

    perfeito

    XD....

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • have yall forgotten the robot wrote this piece??

  • one genius...

    congrats...

    mtu bom...

    parabens...

    toka mtu...

    XD...

  • cazzo... O.O

  • U have amazing speed, but you're losing the feel of the piece & gettng 2 Ywngie sweepy on it. You have great technical speed. But work on the soul man. Feel it! Ya got's 'ta work it like a womans,... 8) You were really good in the beginning few seconds (the intro hammer on / pull offs and vibrato). Inject that feel into the rest of it. The super fast speed is great, but not when you sacrifice dynamics & tastiness. I still gave U a thumbs up just because it was better than most on the here.

  • Way too fast, and not enjoyable at all. Sorry. :(

  • good job dude, but you really shoulda just went & started another video attempt after botching the whole ending segment

  • OWND.

  • What a waste of undoubted talent, he murders this classic, no feel, too fast, like some cyborg put on the spot and asked to sound human, sorry not for me.

  • Yes... u need to pick those arpeggios, not sweep

  • Enjoy music, don't cry and fight over it guys.

  • He can say that because all green day is power chords and Steve Vai is an actual musician, not just some losers trying to appeal to whiny teens. I am working on playing this piece atm, fyi.

  • Woah, Didn't expect that

  • awesome!!!!

  • I know what some people who have posted on this video are trying to state, but most critical comments here are simply posted because to jealousy. I'm sure most people here (including myself) cannot play this piece and you don't have the right to come up with bullshit.

  • @Fate0fTheArt ive been trying to play this piece for 10 years, and i am still fudging it randomly at full speed. I agree with your comment that you have to feel the song to play it correctly, but it is remarkably difficult.

Because i have been trying to play this piece for so long, my brain goes into automatic mode every time i play, a bit like driving a car. The result seems robotic and fudged. Hard to describe.

This is, without question, the toughest song I have ever tried to learn.

  • what a freak i mean the in the nicest way thought

  • alla faccia

  • Totally agree. No feeling. Might as well learn guitar hero.

  • many mistakes cause he apperantly wanna go faster than it actually has to, lacks of feeling and groove, in a few words hang the guitar on the stand and get a job mate

  • @chojinkid sound a little jealous to me. Where is your guitar video?

  • @Mikeart978 who told you that I play the guitar?

  • @chojinkid You have no authority on telling someone how to play his guitar when you don't even play! You probably listen to gay bands like Jonas Brothers and Green Day

  • @IbanezVyperGuitarGuy really? and who are you to say that steve vai is better than green day? you think you have the authority to say that? shut the fuck up smarty pants

  • @chojinkid Me and everyone on here knows that Steve Vai has more skill than everybody in Green Day! Wanna know the sad part. He has more tallent in his left nut!!! And you can't tell me what to do.... Smarty Pants

  • @IbanezVyperGuitarGuy a choice for a different style of music has nothing to do with talent, a band is not better than another just because it has a fast guitar player, I still like green day much better than steve vai and my choice doesn't make myself a dumber listener than you

  • @chojinkid The style doesn't matter... It's all about music theory which Green Day (Queer Gay) doesn't know about yet...They are too busy on which guy they want to bang next

  • @IbanezVyperGuitarGuy ahaha listen to the new green day album and tell me if you're able to sing and play those songs since you seem to be the king of the music and theory, and try to play those songs at live with the same groove and impact as green day do, style doesn't matter? since you're doctor knowhow try to play eugene's trick bag with a band and tell me if you can, as for the theory anything musical is based on music theory

  • @IbanezVyperGuitarGuy .....and yet improvisations is not mandatory in a song, in a band what matters is teamwork since you're not the only playing in this band, otherwise keep jacking off with the guitar like gottardo does but that bear in mind that doing this doesn't make you a musician, but just a way to use music as a manner of showing off

  • @IbanezVyperGuitarGuy have a metal drummer play green day songs and see what happenes, I had many smarty pants metal drummers play green day, they just end up dead after 2 minutes, same shit with metal singers cause you really need to know how to manage your vocal passaggio for green day songs, unlike metal where you mostly use a covered falsetto

  • @chojinkid Sorry but I think listening to Green Day's new album would be a waste of my time... If you wanna hear a real band listen to Dream Theater and Racer X

  • Comment removed

  • that's it, you prejudge green day and don'teven wanna listen to them for this reason, so don't even judge a band if you don't know it, and this has nothing to do with music theory nor talent, you just do music racism and this is a very bad attitude cause music exists to make us feel better, not to make you feel smarter than others only because you like a fast guitarist and judge other bands who have other qualities gay bands, good luck with DT but lemme tell you that you suck dude

  • @chojinkid I am not prejudging them... I have listened to them over and over and over again...for all i know i may have already listened to their new album, but did i like it enough to remember it...NO! And wtf is music racism... Boohoo i dont like Green Day... Get over it!!! MY STYLE IS MY STYLE AND YOUR STYLE IS YOUR STYLE!!! And tell me what i suck at

  • @IbanezVyperGuitarGuy so just say you don't like them or you got bugged, don't say nonsense like they ain't talented, their music lacks of theory and blah blah blah, as for the eugene trick's bag I always liked it, and on youtube there are better performances than gottardo's, I remember a black guy playing it perfectly, gottardo really lacks of feeling and precision

  • @chojinkid Steve Vai must have liked him. He's on Steve Vai's label. Who is your record contract with?

  • Si, l'ultimo pezzo ho improvvisato, tu l'hai saltato....scherzo dai, dove hai stududiato chitarra??

  • se non sbaglio ha studiato (e ora insegna) alla lizard

  • Troppo veloce e macchinoso....

  • This is the best version I have seen. Bad ass

  • Awesome. The best job I've seen on youtube so far!

  • a bit faster than the original and i think steve vai alternate picks the whole thing.NICE JOB THO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awsome , im gona eventualy get that but until there , STAIRWAY ! =D

  • lol...looks like the cry baby crowd is out in force this week. rofl.

How could you possibly get asian out of Gottardo? lol

    What a loser...

  • me cojoni...

    complimenti

  • very good. .... muy bueno

  • Dude seriously. Quit whoring yourself out. Maybe you should get a better recorded video first before promoting it. I do agree this wasn't that great because it's swept but you need to get yourself a better camera before whoring your video out.

  • Comment removed

  • DANIELE GOTTARDO IS Italian.

How the hell could it be an Asian name?

  • Comment removed

  • Dont know ask the people that says you're asian

  • sounds alot better when steve vai played it because you try to rush it, bah learn some timing

  • False. Vai's sounded better because he didn't sweep.

  • @weissgyz Thats quite true :O

  • super genius...

    very very good guitarrist...

    very very good...

    congrats man...

    XD...

  • not that this isnt amazing, which it is, but i dont think iv ever had to tell someone that theyre playing this of all songs too quickly... its an accomplishment really haha

  • @chipwichesrool Check out a Get out of my yard cover by some asian guy. I don't know the account but I'm sore it's one of the only on here and he taps Get Out Of My Yard because he doesn't have a human capo and taps crazy faster, faster than the song believe it or not.

  • someone shredding heavier than paul gilbert? damn... but then again he's asian and no offense but we all know that theyre secretly robots... its a compliment really theyre good at everything

  • No offense? Don't even bother with that. We all know they're robots...it's friggin machines making machines over there in chinaland or whereever the hell they come from LMAO :P

  • cant find the video, got a link?

  • Hey Seth3556r

    Memo for you:

Danny Gottardo Someone that was given an Ibanez Gem from Steve Vai himself who was his personal pick at the 2009 Guitar Idol Competition.

Seth3556r A fucking nobody that runs his mouth off on youtube without a single shred of proof that you could even hold Dannys jock. You want people to listen to yousimply put up a vid and be judged.and none of this I have videos coming bullshit. You said that over a year ago. Either put up or shut up.

  • Comment removed

  • this would be ggood if it was not sweeps

  • Okay, now play the right arpeggios instead of just sloppy sweeps and take the hair band or cloth, or whatever it is that's taking away the true challenge of the song off the strings. Then post it and delete this one.

  • were they really that sloppy? I dunno cuz i can't sweep yet lol

  • O ya, too much excess noice. He's even cheating with a hairband at the headstock, which is lame if you cant play the arpeggios without one. Trust me when I say this, sweeps are difficult and take a lot of practice to master. Once you can do them, you can do all of them. but keep in mind that they are still overrated and that picking rhythm is key.

  • nah it wasnt sloppy, people are just jealous/vai fanboys.

  • a little fast, but coool other than that.

  • quite perfect! bravo

  • genius...

  • That is some damn fine playing, but I just feel playing this song too fast (like how you did) just makes the song sound bad. Sorry but it does sound better when its played slower.

  • Holy shit that was awesome ! :D

  • (Soy Marcelo)

    Mmmmm.....

Pareceee.... una araña tejiendo su telaraña visto en camara super rapido
