In John Boy's defense, he was up there w the heavy hitters! I think his insecurities took over and he felt the need to overcompensate...by over singing and over performing. I'm baffled as to why he was even included. I can name 20 other male artists that earned the right to be a part of this tribute. Interesting that he was chosen.
@GospelAccording2MEBut isn't this a tribute to Patti Labelle? The Lady is not necessarily known holding back during live performances. Ask Dianna Ross.
Now, Ron Isley, and Luther Vandross set the tone had it groovin all nice and Jonny Gill had to be real extra with all that over-singing...he had me with the falsetto until he jumped off the stage.
I like the collaboration of this song between Ron Isley, Luther Vandross, and Johhny Gill. MEKABESTOFRNB, are you able to upload a clear copy of this? Thanks!

Johnny Gill is SOOO Damn OLD now. Until he started his trademark growling technique, I didn't even recognize him.
