@201stars from what I know most of the world is run by country-less banks and corporations. They like to use the term multinational which basically means subjected to the laws of none. The number of people involved in this makes race irrelevant. I know when shit gets tough an easy way out is to blame someone tangible, like a race or religion but the truth is we're all in it together, i'd like too see more help for intelligence, scholarships used to be about that.

@wardogPC also consider this. even if the corporations and banks did the right thing for the people, and made right by the people they've hurt, blacks would still be at the bottom of the totem pole so to speak. While as a black person i might add, we hold our own selves back, I'm not the type to blame whites for all our problems, but it's still unfair. If the banks won't listen to the white OWS movement ( yes there is other races) what makes you think they will help out blacks?

@201stars "Blacks" has become a very loose term lately and that shows the fact that racism at least towards North American ones is fading away, there is a huge difference between the Caribbean, African, and "local" in they way their life is played out in NA. In many places people cut more slack to black people just because they are black, and very often fear of the Hood Gangster is confused with racism, but it's a normal reaction to anyone subscribing to that name no matter the colour.

If there are scholarships of all type that don't exclude any race, than why not? I'm hispanic and don't see any problem with this. There are many scholarships out there that focus on specific races and interests. A white-only scholarship isn't a return to a Jim Crow era. :/

I understand that white people need help also, but a whites only scholarship??? On top of that white women cannot receive this scholarship??? Why not give the scholarship to several people based on population percentages, 10% black, 11% latino, 7% other and the rest white people, half males and half females, if you want to help everyone out then this seems more reasonable, a white male only scholarship seems pretty darn racist, these people act like there aren't scholarships available to whites.

@JonathanJimenez111 Saying "whites only" is misleading. If you are 25% Caucasian you are eligible for this. Which means if you have 3 100% non-Caucasian grandparents, and 1 100% Caucasian grandparent, you are still eligible for this scholarship. Meaning a person who has the skin color that is NOT white can still get this scholarship. As for women only... There are MANY scholarships that men can't get because they are women only scholarships.

@Reido2828 The thing is with these scholarships is that they can give them out to whomever they want. Which I am fine with since it is their money. If they want to give it to someone who has red hair, blue eyes, at least 6'3 and weigh less than 220 lbs then let them. I do feel that scholarships should be for someone who cant afford their way through college, but if they're going to allow blacks, asian etc etc only, then these guys should be allowed to do this as well without being criticized.

To be honest, I don't know what to say. I believe everyone should have an equal chance at education, but when you look at it statistically a white's only scholarship just isn't needed. With the amount of white privilege that's prevalent

throughout this country why should we? To be "equal" and "fair?" Because that's far from what's going on here.
