if it was fake, the background would be solid rather than white in the places the text are, to cover up the text under it, the reason why theres white around the text is because it was scanned and OCR software was used so the document can be edited and searchable, im sure the text was touched up so its darker and more readable, but that was probably done to avoid smeared or unreadable text, whoever made this document didn't think it would be taken apart, but it led some idiots to beleve its fake
@uhf89 I have a masters degree in visual communications and grafic design and i can tell you that there is no way that a scanned document could break apart in layers in this way the reason for the white were the letters pulled awy from the backing is the original main document was white with black letters and a green design was placed over top of the base layers then they pulled the words through to the front.
@uhf89 OCR testing was done on the certificate, and it failed all three tests....there for the document was never scanned. It was manufactured. No one touches up a government document for readability purposes. This document would be consistent with the paper and typewriter "fonts" used in 1961...the fonts in this document contain both typewriter and computer fonts from another source. The we also have the word "the" spelled "TXE" on signature.....oooopps!

The certificate autenticity is not important. It's the language. To be the President of the United States, you have to be a natural born citizen. Natural born citizen is defined as being born of parents who are BOTH citizens of the United States. Obama could have been born in the lap of the Lincoln Memorial but it doesnt change the fact that his father is Kenyan born. He is Constitutionally inelligible.

Snopes debunked based on one Adobe Professional, yet there are hundreds of other professionals saying that it's fake. I have a $5500 scanner, copier etc. at work that will scan to PDF as well, so I looked at 10 different documents that I had previously scanned. Yes, you can use OCR text recognition to break stuff into layers, but nowhere near the sort of layers that this has. Not saying its impossible, but still not buying their story.

If you have the capacity to use Illustrator you can do this as well. Take the 2 minutes and try it. But really, this BC talk is sheer nonsense.

The easiest thing to see is that the copied portion of the birth certificate on the left side bends (as where the page bends) whereas the green backing page is straight. The black lines curve, the green pattern doesn't. It could simply be that the scanned document was superimposed on the green backing to give it a more "official" look. Unfortunately, once they started making it look more real, they provide even more reason for doubt. Providing an altered document was not smart.

But the most convincing book is Jerome Corsi's "Where's the Birth Certificate." We all know that Obama is a CIA-Zibignew Brezinkski creation. Unfortunately this guy has actually given evidence that it is not fake. The layering is a part of the OCR feature of high end scanners. I scanned my DL at the office and got exactly the same result. The OCR will try to find information that can be converted to text. In doing so it will put various dark and light areas in different layers. You can see this in the D of the signature at 3:20 where it put the D on a different layer than the rest.

If the BC was authentic and aged , as a page in a book, having the Green Inked Design paper as the document material, then the BC ought to have aged variably , with the inner page being richer in color as more sealed and protected as a page in a book ,and the outer edges , exposed more to the elements, would have faded faster. But the shirting material is the same rich green ink as the BC , and it clearly shows no aging at all of the BC , which should have happened in forty years.

As a professional in Adobe software, I can say with absolute certainty that Obama's certificate was created in Photoshop & Illustrator. Illustrator documents can be restored if they were saved in the pdf format. Plus, a medical professional checked on the Hawaiian medical facility that was on Obama's certificate. It did not exist for years after the year of birth of Obama. So, we see that Obama is a true slime ball, who tries to lie his way out of everything- just like his mother and father did.

Place your offical birth cerificate in your scanner...Now Click Create PDF...select "from Scanner"....uncheck "make searchable (run OCR)". Press SCAN. Once scanned, go to File...Save As...choose "Save as type Adobe PDF files Optimized". Now open this file in Illustrator and Viola, your file is LAYERED. @allblue88 on my computer, i save things in pictures, then when i go get them, i open my pictures which contains 3 locations of pictures. so, yes, that would be consistent with where and how you access saved files. That is also easy to check.

If you don't have illustrator open it in Acrobat Pro & select the "Touch-Up Object Tool". You can then drag the layers around while clicking on them. You wont see the BIZzILLION layers like illustrator shows, but you get the same idea. Its been "Chopped & Shopped". Also, If someone out there has one of those "super dooper dupers" (Scanner) that can re-create all them multiple layers after the doc has been flattened, like some claim. Please enlighten us on the make & model. I could sure use it!
This is the dumbest thing I've seen yet. Not only has the HI DOH confirmed the authenticity of the certificate, but if you just look at the "layers" you'll notice the bottom layer has white space exactly where the text was. This proves it was a scan. If it was a true layer the security pattern would cover the whole layer and the text would have been laid on top of it--remove the text and there would be no white areas. The white areas show the original digital image had EXACTLY the same text.
The layers are produced by the Adobe Acrobat Document > Optimized Scanned PDF command. It breaks a flat document into those layers and runs compression accounting for the artifacts. It's an old way of saving disk space when storage was more expensive.
Scan a document,save it as 1.pdf(flat),then run the above command and save it as 2.pdf (optimized)
Place both into Illustrator and 2.pdf (optimized) will show roughly the same layering. 1.pdf being flat will show few layers.

@uhf89 I have a masters degree in visual communications and grafic design and i can tell you that there is no way that a scanned document could break apart in layers in this way the reason for the white were the letters pulled awy from the backing is the original main document was white with black letters and a green design was placed over top of the base layers then they pulled the words through to the front.

@uhf89 OCR testing was done on the certificate, and it failed all three tests....there for the document was never scanned. It was manufactured. No one touches up a government document for readability purposes. This document would be consistent with the paper and typewriter "fonts" used in 1961...the fonts in this document contain both typewriter and computer fonts from another source. The we also have the word "the" spelled "TXE" on signature.....oooopps!

The certificate autenticity is not important. It's the language. To be the President of the United States, you have to be a natural born citizen. Natural born citizen is defined as being born of parents who are BOTH citizens of the United States. Obama could have been born in the lap of the Lincoln Memorial but it doesnt change the fact that his father is Kenyan born. He is Constitutionally inelligible.

Snopes debunked based on one Adobe Professional, yet there are hundreds of other professionals saying that it's fake. I have a $5500 scanner, copier etc. at work that will scan to PDF as well, so I looked at 10 different documents that I had previously scanned. Yes, you can use OCR text recognition to break stuff into layers, but nowhere near the sort of layers that this has. Not saying its impossible, but still not buying their story.

I scanned my Birth Certificate in Adobe Acrobat, had my OCR settings unchecked, and saved it as an optimized PDF and Viola…my Birth Certificate is now….you guessed it…layered!
If you have the capacity to use Illustrator you can do this as well. Take the 2 minutes and try it. But really, this BC talk is sheer nonsense.

The easiest thing to see is that the copied portion of the birth certificate on the left side bends (as where the page bends) whereas the green backing page is straight. The black lines curve, the green pattern doesn't. It could simply be that the scanned document was superimposed on the green backing to give it a more "official" look. Unfortunately, once they started making it look more real, they provide even more reason for doubt. Providing an altered document was not smart.

Unfortunately this guy has actually given evidence that it is not fake. The layering is a part of the OCR feature of high end scanners. I scanned my DL at the office and got exactly the same result. The OCR will try to find information that can be converted to text. In doing so it will put various dark and light areas in different layers. You can see this in the D of the signature at 3:20 where it put the D on a different layer than the rest.

If the BC was authentic and aged , as a page in a book, having the Green Inked Design paper as the document material, then the BC ought to have aged variably , with the inner page being richer in color as more sealed and protected as a page in a book ,and the outer edges , exposed more to the elements, would have faded faster. But the shirting material is the same rich green ink as the BC , and it clearly shows no aging at all of the BC , which should have happened in forty years.

As a professional in Adobe software, I can say with absolute certainty that Obama's certificate was created in Photoshop & Illustrator. Illustrator documents can be restored if they were saved in the pdf format. Plus, a medical professional checked on the Hawaiian medical facility that was on Obama's certificate. It did not exist for years after the year of birth of Obama. So, we see that Obama is a true slime ball, who tries to lie his way out of everything- just like his mother and father did.

Once scanned, go to File...Save As...choose "Save as type Adobe PDF files Optimized". Now open this file in Illustrator and Viola, your file is LAYERED. @allblue88 on my computer, i save things in pictures, then when i go get them, i open my pictures which contains 3 locations of pictures. so, yes, that would be consistent with where and how you access saved files. That is also easy to check.

Interesting! I'm getting in on this 6 months later. Presumably the whitehouse pulled that doc off their website rather quickly and perhaps flattened the image so as not to leave telltale layers? I find it hard to believe that a digital forger working for the whitehouse would not remember to flatten before putting his/her work on the website? Very strange indeed. Who knows what is REAL anymore?

If you don't have illustrator open it in Acrobat Pro & select the "Touch-Up Object Tool". You can then drag the layers around while clicking on them. You wont see the BIZzILLION layers like illustrator shows, but you get the same idea. Its been "Chopped & Shopped". Also, If someone out there has one of those "super dooper dupers" (Scanner) that can re-create all them multiple layers after the doc has been flattened, like some claim. Please enlighten us on the make & model. I could sure use it!

This is the dumbest thing I've seen yet. Not only has the HI DOH confirmed the authenticity of the certificate, but if you just look at the "layers" you'll notice the bottom layer has white space exactly where the text was. This proves it was a scan. If it was a true layer the security pattern would cover the whole layer and the text would have been laid on top of it--remove the text and there would be no white areas. The white areas show the original digital image had EXACTLY the same text.

The layers are produced by the Adobe Acrobat Document > Optimized Scanned PDF command. It breaks a flat document into those layers and runs compression accounting for the artifacts. It's an old way of saving disk space when storage was more expensive.
Scan a document,save it as 1.pdf(flat),then run the above command and save it as 2.pdf (optimized)
Place both into Illustrator and 2.pdf (optimized) will show roughly the same layering. 1.pdf being flat will show few layers.

What you say is true. Optimized PDF's have layers. It's funny how ridiculous birthers are--they "discover" something perfectly normal for the file format and start chimping out thinking they've uncovered the new Watergate.
The most interesting thing I discovered when investigating this is the type on Obama's certificate exactly matches that on the Nordyke Twins certificate, thus proving they were typed on the same typewriter. The Nordyke twins were born in the same hospital/same time

Apparently you are a cronic idiot. His birth certificate has been verified to be authentic by everyone from experts hired by World Net Daily to the HI Department of Health itself. That last is the most impressive since they are the one's who actually issue birth certificates in HI. They confirm that it came from them, so if it was forged it must have been forged by the DOH itself. Little bit like claiming the DMV forges drivers licenses.
