good video the compression and eq are the two most important and diverse plugins to use in a mix, some people dont even use them those are the people who music suck lol but nice video i will subscribe and rate! peace brah
@panama860 That all dependends on how loud you have everything else. Mixing all has to do with what you have done already, If you have a loud back ground then you need to mix the vocals to that, if you have a soft background then you will need to mix the vocals to that.
@JeeKew Thanks for the support I will be posting some more videos in October and November time frame. I just got my iMac today so I want to learn my way around it first.
bro yo videos helped out a hell of a lot i had the static problem also but ima just go by what u said in the comment reply and see if it works ill hit u up and let u know great videos though keep it up
@JeeKew only have 1 band open, pump the gain all the way up on the band and the Que as narrow as possible then scan all the way through until you hear the his get louder. once you find it take note of the freq and start to edit on it.
@JeeKew Use the EQ to locate what freq the static is on once you have found it open a Desser. Place the Desser as the first processor in the chain. Bypass your EQ until you have eliminated the static. once you have eliminated most or all of the static turn your EQ back on. If you still hear it then you will need to Filter out a portion of your vocals. If you cant get it out after all of that you will need to re record with a mixer that has EQ knobs on it and cut out most of the lows and highs
Yeah doog, good videos, I learned alot...however, I still get this muffled kinda sound when I play my mixes and I dont know how to get rid of it. U said that if the voulmes on the tracks exceed the master fader....could this by why my mixes sound muffled/muddy? Because I do like loud mixes and I do tend to pump up the volume. I also need help with reverb on vocals too! Otha than that, good job man, keep the tutorials coming!!!
However you may not be filtering your interference. interference is sounds in your room or area that you are recording in that is not the vocals. If you filter out the interference then when you turn up the volume on the track then you will have a more clear sound and you can also pick up on an interference that you may have missed.
Hey Bro. thank you very much. I have learn alot. Can you do a video on Good EQ settings For Lead and Background Vocals. Thanks bro.

Do you think it would be better to use eq and compressor hardware rather than using the plugins in pro tools?

over mixing to the master fader could cause this.
