I remember this song from years ago. I knew it was a sad song but I loved the chorus so much that I never really knew the lyrics. I just knew Walter and Wallace sounding good doing the lead. I actually remember seeing this performance on Soul Train. I forgot Walter and Scotty didn't always have mustaches though.
i posted this on another video. ive actually heard this song from a ron hardy mix from a deacon of a church i used to go to. this song has been in my head ever since. yes, i love bingo too.
I remember this song from my high school days. Walter and Scotty Scott are tough. Since I found this song about two days ago, I'v e listened to the video probably 7 or 8 times.
Thank you for adding this. I have vague memories of this playing on a 45 Christmas of 73. I thank my mother for my love of music! She passed it on to me who passed it on to my son. End result, he's on his 4th albulm!
I run into a Soul Train Lp I paid 1 buck on a local Flea market.
I was 11 and in Italy you hadn't the chance to listen to a lot of good, black, overseas music...
My life changed. Had to wait the 1980 to see the faces of Walter and Wallace on an import LP with their name and "And the Beat Goes On" as main hit. (read below...)
Later on, I bought all the old vinyl LPs (that I actually save with extreme care) and try to find all the Whispers TV shows (awa the other "jewels" at Solar as Dynasty, Shalamar, Lakeside, Carrie Lucas, Midnight Star, Collage etc..)
Is a sort of "falling in love" with soul, funk and jazz that shot me down when I was a child...
When I'm down, I think to Maurice White, Walter and Wallace, Aretha or Marvin and I feel blessed.... :-)
So, when Pasadenas recorded "Tribute" I jumped for joy....
The Whispers are, and have always been a hot and classy act. Their fancy foot work was always something to behold, too. Even though Walter & Scott were two individuals, their voices were one. Amazing group.
It's a shame I can only hit the like button only once.

This was part of their great Philly soul period. They did this LP (Bingo) and One For The Money with the MFSB musicians in the early days of disco.
