  • @adderleymusique .......Aw Yeah

  • What's the name of this AWESOME song!? or it is just an improvisation or jam? The listening of these musiciens are unbelievable!!! What a performance!!

  • @DidSax2 ....The Mad Hater

  • @DidSax2 The Mad Hatter Rides Again. Most of it is in 17/8 time.

  • Boys & Girls you are watching the most funky alto sax player since Maceo Parker. BTW Mr wooten ain't chopped liver. Smmmmoooookin !!!

  • @saxxml ...True That!!

  • Yeap, 17/8. It's actually 4/4 + 9/8, the straight form, but you can improvise over it, like playing 4 + 6 + 4 + 3 or 5 + 5 + 4 +3 with it,

    Try it.

  • @gustavogitti .....COOL!!

  • where does this guy play alot well most of the time

  • @nicherna Bela Fleck or Dave Matthews Band

  • What is the TIME SIGNATURE here?

  • 7/8

  • Haha, thanks man. It's FUN to play.

  • COOL!!!

  • 17/8. not 7/8. i like to count it: 1-,2-,3-,4-. 1-,2-,3-. 1,2,3. so its like a bar of 4/4, a bar of 3/4, and a bar of 3/8. but there are many ways to count it

  • COOL!!!

  • Jeff is an amazing player and an even more amazing person if you get to meet him.

Song is called "The Mad Hatter Rides Again"

  • Jeff is cooler than a fan!!...lol

  • i met him last night at jones beach. he was just hanging by himself checking out the opening act. He was super nice...he took his time out to allow my wife to take a picture of him and i....then he wasnt standoffish....he put him arm around me for the pic and grinnned from ear to ear...my wife loved it and i have a picture that makes it look like we know each other. We told hm that he was doing a great job under dificult circumstncs Tel him thax

  • That I will, sir and I'd be honored to call you friend also.. Thanks again for posting this "shower" by two of the sickest, most down to the bone kindred souls, displaying what's it's like to step into that other dimension, and let it "rain down" upon you with incredible results. There are no words to describe the feeling....and I'm sure you'd agree.. God bless.

  • This guy and Masato Honda are now the reasons I play the saxophone.

  • Cool!!!

  • I just heard Jeff Coffin live 3 hours ago, here in Nashville. If there is a better sax man on this planet, I sure don't know who it would be! He was playing with Nashville Jazz Orchestra, all studio guys and amazing, themselves!

  • Jeff is awesome!!

  • Chris Potter maybe?

  • COOL Input!!

  • Joshua Redman

  • OK!!!

  • Absolutely great! I can listen to this round and round and it is always super.

  • Dude, ever heard of improvising? This aint no written song dumbface.

  • Good Comment, Be Nice!!!

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Agree!!!

  • I play both sax and bass, and if i get half as good as them, i need to learn how to play both at the same time. ! Loop Machine FTW

  • Is jeff playing an alto??

    he doesnt usually do that

  • look at the youtube vids ... he often plays the alto

  • Actually he only plays alto with the Flecktones on this tune (Mad Hatter Rides Again), and when he plays alto and tenor simultaneously.

  • holy crap i just did a jazz gig with jeff tonight at my school... that man is amazing

  • his bass is tuned much higher than usual

  • I think that's his Tenor Bass!!!

  • mmmm...I have an instructional video and he often uses a bass tuned A-D-G-C

  • Yep!!!

  • i'm playing with jeff coffin tonight =D

  • That's awesome!!!

  • You play at New trier?

  • O_O amazing... they are the best

  • jeff coffin is a genius!!!!!!!!great

  • Even better as a person!!!!!!!

  • that looks so fun...

  • You had to be there!!!!!

  • Jeff just played with our college jazz band in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, the guys amazing and really approachable, I was truely honored. He did a clinical and actually said Mad Hatter Rides Again is in 8 1/2, which he didn't even realize until he tried to explain it to the Flectones (spelling) to play lol

  • Hahahahahaha!!! That's crazy.......

  • Aguanteee Jeff Coffinn un GENIOO!!

  • I agree, I think.....lol

  • The sax player, Jeff Coffin, did a concert with my jazz band up at PLU last Fall. He's amazing.

  • The whole band is fantastic......

  • its not a song its just a jam they worked out on stage. the bass groove is the mad hatter theme song from alice in wonderland.

  • I think it is Mad Hatter, because the Saxophone solo is very similar and the bass groove is the same rhythm, just not the same notes.

  • just letting you know, thats because its in the same key...C then G. btw its in 17/8 timing (a way to count this is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and a 1 and so forth) victor isnt sticking to a certain bass line, hes improvising (no suprise) so figure out the changes and play around with it. Good luck with this song! :)

  • 17/8 Man! that's wild......

  • You think so?

  • R U Sure?

  • can anyone tell me what this song is

    thanks

  • It's called The Mad Hatter Rides Again...jeff recorded it with the Mu'tet

  • OK....COOL!!!!

  • Mad Hatter
