A penis is not designed to be injected, repeatedly and forcefully, into an anus. It is designed to fit into a vagina, and it does so very well.

Therefore, those who find sexual gratification in anal intercourse, as well as those who find sexual gratification in inflicting/recieveing pain (S&M) are mentally ill.

i never said women were inferior, i was quoting from the DSM II. And if you think anal sex is wrong because "the penis isn't designed for it" you should be against oral sex as well, given that the penis wasn't designed to go in the mouth either. Also, i said before that something can't be considered a mentill illness unless it affects one's ability to function in society, or must cause subjective distress. S&M doesn't distress the person, nor does it impair their ability to function.

I've never heard of a woman who enjoys it. However, it may be that homosexual men enjoy it because that's the only vaginal-type hole available between men (in a non-69 position).

That is not true. There are many people who suffer from depression that are able to function (sometimes only with the use of drugs). So, are you saying that depression is not a mental illness?

Depression ALWAYS affects one's ability to function, if it didn't, it wouldn't be considered depression. If they need medication for depression to function, then obviously they weren't functioning properly before they had the medication. And there is a second criteria to mental illness, it must cause the affected person distress. And depression causes plenty of distress to the affected person.

No, that is not true. It depends on the level of the depression. I've known several people with depression and some of them absolutely needed drugs while others just needed to talk to someone (i.e., psycho-therapy).

Now, if you mean that depression always causes someone to function less well than they would otherwise...well...yes, I would agree with that.

Yes, an alchoholic i still an alchoholic even if he stops drinking. But just as if a person with depression gets the proper medication to treat the illness, an alchoholic can get counseling and other treatments as well. Just because the symptoms are no longer there doesn't mean they no longer have the illness.

And the fact people say i can't be gay when i didn't have i choice to begin with is an infringment upon my rights. They're not saying vegetarianism IS a mental disorder, but if someone thinks being gay is a mental disorder because it's not "normal" the same could be applied to vegetarianism.

Sadly it was no surprise. The Californian Supreme Court is still stuffed with Bush appointees. If it goes to the US Supreme Court right now it will face the same problem. Achieving the right to inter-racial marriage and women's rights within marriage took years - but we won. I have no doubt that we will win this battle too in the longer term because the younger generations are solidly on the side of justice.
