Connect it to one of the USB ports and if it doesnt show up on your computer, then retry to connect your USB. BUT dont put it into the PORT that was not working. Try a new one and if the ports in back dont work try the front. If this doesnt work go try out your luck on a different comp or install the cd's (shouldnt have to though). Good luck, Albert.

the only way to do it is to use canon converting or editing software. i found a way using sony vegas movie studio platinum 9, go to file>make movie>internet video>youtube>type in all the stuff you want and it uploads for you. can take a while tho.

You have a variation of color modes, and it shoots pretty well. Just gotta test it out and mess around with it to see whats best in whatever your doing. If this camera is now under 500 then this is a steal, but when i got it... this was like way more than 500. Battery life isnt great great, but it will do (I recommend bigger one). Noise it could be better, but tahts why there is a speaker thing you put on top to help. Hope I helped good luck.

The picture is amazing, especially when you upload it to your computer. But for some reason, the file format is in AVCHD and there isn't many editing programs that support that file. Like Windows Movie Maker won't open any videos from it. So I tried directly uploading the raw video to YouTube and it turned out very blurry. So if you got the camera, you'd have to use Sony Vegas 8.0 to edit your videos first.

The format is MTS. and this is compressed by 'AVCHD'. The only annoying thing about this camera is the format it records in - it hardly works with anything

As far as I know, After Effects wont accept the AVCHD file format. Something about MPEG codecs that AE doesn't like. (At least for CS3) An option would be to convert the file format, however, this could lead to some compression issues which means a loss of quality...
