Till to date (April 22, 2010) the country has been under the rule of the high and mighty regardless they wear uniforms or civilian dresses. PPP started with the slogan "Roti Kapra aur Makan" but in practicality they did everything to deprive the masses of these necessities. The dictator after the dictator favored their own tribe (army). Basic democracy to referundum for Islam and non party elections all introduced by dictators. On economic front from bonus vouchers of Ayub to selective denationalization of Zia all was under military caps. True politicians also have a very bleak record but what Zia and Ayub have done to this country no one else did.

@someuniquewords My friend countries are made strong when institutions are made strong. institutions include judiciary,parliament, army, civil government arms etc. Institution building eliminates the fear that a single group will rule the rest and thus encourgae partcipation of all and nurture patriotism. A military dictator is a violator of law so he can not stregthen institutions.
