@taylorrka Your welcome! - you won't regret it if you build one. Enjoying ours every day. One thing I have not mentioned that I would do differently would be to sink the waterway just a little deeper along the edges and not trim the pond liner too close along each side. I had to go back after a while and shore up the edges to stop water running over the sides. Other than that its been very easy to maintain.
This is a great video. I'm super excited about next summer. I can start getting my materials together . Your instructions are the best. I've watched so many of these videos and were no help at all.
Thanks for the compliments! Glad you liked it. It was a fun project that continues to give us a lot of enjoyment. Wish I could build these for a living. Maybe when the economy picks up again. :-) Ted
...And I do have to say:"I like your Personalized wheelbarrow!" (& your comment )
Your lighthearted & humorous approach to mistakes made in the video, was FUNNY & BELIEVABLE. You can bet we will all make a few mistakes on our first water feature! But you embraced your mistakes and made them ENTERTAINING for us! thanks!
Hey TED! Your video is the BEST !! ( I have watched over 200 "Do-it-yourself" Videos) Your comments on screen are Funny & informative! Thanks for sharing your video!
Hi - thanks for the compliment - glad you enjoyed it. The visqueen will last a long time as it is not in the sunlight and I used 2 layers of 6 mil (heavy weight). But the idea was only as a backup container. If I notice it leaking I will seal the inside of the cement block with an elastomeric roofing paint.
I bought the pump online. Cal Pump Magnetic Drive Waterfall Pump - 3900 GPH, Model# PWM3900 - available on Amazon.
I like your project, very nice! - and all without expensive pieces. A couple of questions: what pump did you use, and do you anticipate leakage in the visqueen over time?
Really nice job! We just recently uploaded our pondless waterfall video too check it out. We will need to add another video as we have recently updated our waterfall by adding more water flow more plants and we also added solar lights so we can enjoy it at night. We still want to add a few more rocks so we will probably added the updated video in a couple of weeks. Anyway I really like how you made your pond. How often do you have to top it off with more water? Great job!
Thanks- glad you enjoyed it. Just a quick update: we live far enough north that I decided I should pull the pump out for winter. I just put it back in and fired it up again and it was a breeze - no problems. I actually think I could have left the pump out there all winter. Ted
Looks good. I am planning on upgrading a small waterfall that I have now to something bigger. This video gives me some good ideas and tips for building.
looks really good thanks for your time and effort hope to builld one similar myself
