memama2, I don't know if facts matter to you, but let's consider: The Baucus bill contained 86 amendments, YES EIGHTY-SIX, added by Republicans. The Dems control the process, so they allowed these amendments in, in order to get Republicans to vote in favor. How many did? ZERO. Next, Cornyn already voted on this issue, NO was his vote. What would he be adding? What would get him to vote yes on the public option? Of course, Obama didn't promise that Reps would compromise, only that he would.
