The preservationist won, or wal-mart made the right decision and stepped away from it's plans last night. I live in Orange and am not completely anti-Walmart, but I am pro-preservation in this case. (I'm not pro Walmart either, and am most definitely anti-Chinese / pro-USA) I would be less opposed to a Walmart in a different location within Orange. In many places, that option is not really there. In many places, Walmart drives nearly ALL other stores in the area out of business until it is a monopoly. In a small town area where towns a ways apart, it's hard to find a place to carry EVERYTHING you need. However, it doesn't make me hate walmart any less.

I live in the local area. There are already FIVE Wal-Marts. We do NOT need anymore. It isn't that far for these folks to drive to either Culpeper or Fredericksburg to do their shopping.
