Check out discus throw in wiki Virgilijus Alekna is second best planet thrower through the whole history that people saw... ;) his best score 73.88 m (242 ft 4 in) if he had throwed 20cm more he would have done planet record
Does anyone know what the 'reverse V position' is ? It is sometimes referred to when describing certain stages of the discus technique - especially Schult's
Hi! Thanks for uploading your video. I was just wondering if I could use your video for my physics project (it's about motion). I will put you in the credits... Please?
I use it too cuz thats how my dad does it and its worked out pretty well so far (two top tens nationally). also think it helps make sure you get a block and a good plant with the left leg
its not being taught in america but his other secret is the powerful snap of his right knee and hips up into the throw from the power position its amazingly simple yet hard to manipulate, but if u get it down it rly helps
Yes I see what you are saying. I began watching his standing throws where he emphasizes that even without throwing. At first I didn't think it looked like a sound technique. After studying it a lot longer I began to see how wrong I was.
i feel al order is one of the best...i meen he had a brused rib during the olypics, he threw so hard he broke his rib knocked himself out fell back in the circle and beat the world record...i meen come on
im headed into the college discus scene. i was pretty damn good in HS, top ten in state, but im sorried it was just because im so big... that wont b the case in college. EVERYONE is big....
Development is unique to each individual at your age. Coaching and the learning curve is the difference. Don't stop throwing for fun and go the extra mile. Find a good school with a good history for the event and welcome competition it only makes you throw further.
oh, my mistake... i dont know why, but i looked for the kanter ( the grey one at night) ... and yeah fuck, i know who's alekna, 2nd best thrower ever... just saw the wrong seconds. stop flamming "u noob".
same difference...no need for huffishness...just enjoy the discus..lol..and he does anyway..at the 2:05 look at Alekna's veins bulging out...it's nuts..

intersting. jurgen schultz reversed on his world record throw. but he is non reverse. that tells you the reverse is better the non reverse
cdeavellar1 2 years ago
@cdeavellar1 Reversed ?????
bullsticker 2 years ago
yeah. it's at the end of the throw the thrower might switch his legs to stay in. mac wilikins does it, Kanter does it, and alekana does it.

Riedel's style...no reverse, is that being taught these days. He has a very basic style I like.
vatonaught 2 years ago 3
yes it still remains the major style in Germany and remains popular in eastern europe, at least more so than in america where it has never been used
Raikage100 2 years ago
a lot more people use the reverse then non reverse. but both are good.

It works if you are very tall. A smaller man cannot be competitive without a reverse.

the impressiveness of "top-10 in the state" depends entirely on the state.
