Gondry: "In the video that I have just finished for Radiohead, Knives Out, I reconstructed my memories. It’s an autobiographical video. Emma de Caunes plays the role of my ex-girlfriend and Thom Yorke interpretates my role. I received the record the moment we separated. The video, unlike the film, is all based on memory. All these images just came to me. I hadn’t managed to have any others. I suggested them to Thom who agreed."
radiohead's marmite song. you love it or hate it. personally its my 2nd least favorite 'head song, losing to talk show host, but its a nice riff to play. id rather paranoid android or everything in its right place.
I think this is an exceptionally good song , it stimulates my imagination and Thom's voice follows me into my dreams. Haunting, poignant and utterly beautiful. . .
Yeah, it's about cannabalism. If you listen to the lyrics, it's actually pretty eerie, one of the best Radiohead songs & in my opinion the best video.
It's a reference to an instance of modern cannibalism experienced by survivors of a plane crash back in the sixties or seventies; they were forced to eat their deceased fellow passengers.
I read somewhere that they asked thom and he said it's about cannibalism...
Not sure if he was serious or if he was giving a shocking, why'd-you-ask-that-stupid-question answer because of the type of question, as he has done in the past already... from what I've read, again lol
This is my favorite Radiohead song, but the video always creeps me out slightly. Not so much the beginning, so much as when Thom Yorke suddenly becomes a skeleton with a heart for a head, then a mouse on a microphone stand...
i read that this was all done in one shot, one continuous take. i mean i'm sure there were several takes in all, but this was basically they turned the camera on and filmed this video and then turned it off.
This is easily one of my favorite Radiohead songs. The UK has always been known for great musicians. Awsome riff and with Thom Yorke singing it is amazing, simply amazing.
Frigg'n awesome. The top 5 awesomest things in the world are Radioheads music videos, Radioheads songs, Thom Yorkes voice, Thom Yorkes lazy eye, and Sushi.
Michel Gondry is such a creative director! His films and music videos are always a feast for the eyes and mind. Teaming him with Radiohead, the Greatest Band Ever, was a brilliant idea. Magical, magical!

The best Radiohead song IMO, and that took a lot of deciding :)
I think it was the first song I heard by them, and always creeps me out, but in the best possible way!

i'm sure the cannibalism is symbolic of using someone in a relationship; eating them up for your own self-satisfaction.

Yeah, that plane of Argentinian rugby players who crashed in the Andes.
Some of the survivors wrote some great books about what happened. The details are pretty horrific.
