Xbox Live - Creating a Windows Live ID

I have bought a pre-paid card for Xbox Live, and it says it includes 800 microsoft points... Then, I changed my gamertag (which said that the first time is free, next time pays 800 gamerpoints) and now I have 0 microsoft points. I don't get it?

ok i have created a xbox live account about a year ago, i entered a NON EXISTING EMAIL address which now i need to use it, well i tried creating it on yahoo the exactly the same email as is written on my xbox info and it worked, which now is the same as it shows on xbox info but i tried and it dont work why, maybe i need to wait like at least 24hr?
