This researching is getting ridiculous. Next up a completely wrapped in iron car weighing in at over 17,000 lbs. That will stop all but the other cars wrapped in iron. So then all cars wrapped in etc.etc. And a new steel bar here and putone that a computer activates over there. Oh and how about.

You could, but the bar extends into the door, so you'd have the end of a metal bar sticking out when you opened it - potentially dangerous when you're climbing out. Also, if the bar gets bent while the door's open, you could end up with a door that can't close.

Well, the video doesn't give enough information to be sure, but I'm fairly certain the system works by putting the car's structure under stress (i.e, actually bracing for an impact). If you had it permanently under stress, you'd drastically shorten the car's service life.
