she had cancer when she was doing the workshops for Hairspray, but never told anyone because she knew that they would recast her part.  Think she was in the show for the last 4 weeks that it was open.

I was second row at the matinee on the 10th. The first time I had seen the show years ago, Marissa was out. I had a Hairspray mousepad the entire original cast had signed except for Marissa. I was so happy to finally see her live, meet her, and get my autograph. She was an amazing sweetheart to meet.

I was able to fly out to NY this past wknd to see Hairspray for the very last time in NY, I LOVED IT, Harvey and Marrisa were great, we had the best seats in the house, it was just too bad that it was raining pretty hard right after the show and we were not able to wait by the stage door (thursday 12/11). Can't wait for the national tour to come to L.A. next year

OK, so Ryan I was there on Dec 13th for the matinee and waited outside in the freezing cold at the stage door and I saw you when Marissa came out to sign autographs! She was, in fact, AMAZING!!!!!!! My neice and I had so much fun!

every video i have seen of Marissa from her run in 2002/2003, she didnt wear the pink dress, she wore that black an white stripe dress. and her wig is different too.

BUT SHE AMAZING!!
