OOPSY! LOL! I was blonde :p 'Cause I indeed think your plan of using the newer one for a re-recording isn't bad at all 'cause that one has more the old model isn't it?
Actually, I still live in the ''old times'' and only visit the present when my time machine is working properly!
Listening to this piece now, I think I'd like to re-record it with my other theremin; I think the stringlike tone would suit this piece well. Hmmm ... I'll have to get around to that sometime!
I'm not surprised. There are many life-long professional musicians who've never even heard of the theremin, let alone seen one being played. Those that have, often assume it's a 21st century new-age instrument only suitable for rock bands or experimental musicians, whereas it was invented in the late 1920s with classical players in mind.
Youtube was how I discovered the theremin myself, so I'm always pleased to know I've helped spread knowledge of this amazing instrument to others!
Thank you; what a very kind comment. Maybe all those hours of practice are starting to pay off!
I promise you there ARE better theremin performances elsewhere on YouTube. Check the Favourites on my channel page where you'll find the thereminists who inspired me to learn to play this challenging instrument.
I certainly agree that the theremin suits many classical pieces ... although it's perhaps the hardest style to play in, as it requires such precision!
If following my journey has inspired you to try playing the theremin yourself, then I'm delighted. I'd like to think that by recording my gradual progress over the year, then it will encourage others to see that, (with enough practice), there's no reason why they cannot do the same ... or, possibly, far better!

LOL!
Well ... I guess this new one looks that more modern e?
... Sometimes I even love to live in the 70s or 80s again 'cause it's a quite crazy time where we're living in now ... :-s
Maybe I'm just too lyric ortoo philosofic ;-)

Although I studied music at McGill University, I had never seen how a theremin works. This surely broadens my horizon.
