I'm looking forward to hearing klinghoffer in RHCP. I loved frusciante in RHCP... but he was a ticking time bomb. Frusciante doesn't work in RHCP, regardless of how great he is. So I'm glad that he's going solo, I've always been a fan of his solo work... and I respect his decision to leave RHCP. The RHCPs don't own him, we don't own him. He isn't working for us, he isn't a dancing monkey. He's got his own interests.

I think klinghoffer is very talented and since he has similar tastes to frusciante I can't see there being a big effect on RHCP. Frusciante is, in my opinion, among the best artists around. Everything about him is astounding... so who are we to tell him through which outlet he can let his creative juices flow? Anyways, frusciante is a complex thing... and you just have to trust that he's doing what he wants and that it's the right thing to do.

for one thing when your on tour pretty much every night the voice gets tired out and even with top bands with top sound amplification the vocals often still get drowned out so they have to often strain. Plus what many people either forget and or don't understand is that in studio the singer has special mics, time to do it over and over again as well as voice dubbing so it obviously going to sound better on record.

its not a big deal if hes offtune, he was an erratic singer on the californication tours(1999-2001) when this dvd was filmed, because it was the 1st time he really started to sing properly, before that it was mostly rapping with a few slow singing songs, even john isnt that great here, listen to concerts from 07 and you will see the difference, AK was amazing on the BTW tours and even on the stadium arcadium tour, thats all im saying, this clip is very old, he has progressed since then

yea i agree, im a hardcore fan and i loved the live show i saw at champagne IL, but i have to say from watching MANY MANY videos of them live, anthony cannot hit the high notes he somehow manages to hit during the recordings. its not that he has no talent, esp regarding his rapping which is always top notch, but in songs like...minor thing, i could die for you- those have very high registers that he never sings beatifully live.

He did alot of vocal training and developed a decent range for his voice to be honest. However when he goes into the high ranges like in his recording and its hit or miss if he will hit the right note. This is ok when recording but when playing live you cant stand on stage and keep trying to hit a note that would normally be too high for your voice 10 times. Despite this he is still possibly the best live performer out there, he really puts on a good show

I dont know about that lyricist comment. While i think Anthony is a great lyricist i think John is just as good because both of their powerful lyrics (AK- Under bridge, scar tissue, soul to squeeze. JF- Look on, past recedes, omission) deal with the tough times in their lives an overcoming them so in their own way they are both phenomenal and i dont want to choose a favorite but i think John is just as good.
