The animals were apparently unconscious soon after stunning. EEG showed severe pain immediately after stunning. When these religious practices were started there was no stunning. It was the quickest way of killing the animal and as free from blood as possible. The other 2 requirements in halal slaughter are 1- Say God's name before the cut 2- use a very sharp knife to make it quick, other recommendations are direct it to qiblah and not allowing the animal to see the knife.

@DazeyLin In the part 2 - B of that video why do they cut the film as soon as the cut to the throat is made if it is so painless and instant? on the last large sheep you can see th start part of the animal for 2sec as it starts to die. A cow for example can take uplo 5mins to die in this method, you can see in the animals eyes when it becomes unconcious. the heart also beats for a long time. If this was the best procidure for the animal it would be required in all slaughter houses.

stunning animals before slaughtering is allowed in islam as long as it does not kill the animal. The other 2 requirements in halal slaughter are 1- Say God's name before the cut 2- use a very sharp knife to make it quick, other recommendations are direct it to qiblah and not allowing the animal to see the knife.

It is increasingly hard in many UK places to obtain non Halal slaughtered meat and it's coming in through the back door eg, so many schools are making all school dinners Halal, without informing parents of the barbaric and inhumane nature of the slaughter involved - so many people are totally unaware and think it's just about blessing the animals before slaughter - I wish it were... When I was like 9, my mom went to visit a friend of hers who owned a farm. They were talking outside and then I noticed a few feet away from me there was a cow hanging upside down. They continued talking and suddenly a man comes from nowhere and put a basket under the cow and then cut the cow's throw. At the time I was 9 so i didn't really understand - now I'm 20 and I still remember it.

Or dairy or eggs --- But the point of this video has nothing to do with animal well"being" - Being concerned with well being we would not opt to kill or eat them at all. This is a welfare issue - And as far as this goes - Yes, I see clearly that animals suffer more from being slaughtered without stunning. @DazeyLin In the part 2 - B of that video why do they cut the film as soon as the cut to the throat is made if it is so painless and instant? on the last large sheep you can see th start part of the animal for 2sec as it starts to die. A cow for example can take uplo 5mins to die in this method, you can see in the animals eyes when it becomes unconcious. the heart also beats for a long time. If this was the best procidure for the animal it would be required in all slaughter houses.

@djinfrance just because its required doesn't mean its always done for example if you are a meat eater you should see how basically any big corporate buisnesses treat their animals example: mcdonalds and KFC often times the chickens and cattle are beaten, kicked, choked, slammed against the ground etc before they die. I'm pretty sure thats not allowed in any slaughter houses but like i said before, just because its not allowed doesn't mean people don't do it. Its cruel and inhumane but heartless

Anyway, if the animal is afraid, and the name of God is not pronounced, the meat is not halal.. and when God's name is pronounced and it's done properly, the animal is calm.

We do not want to eat meat with blood in it. When stunt or electrocuted heart stops and blood do not drain out where as blood is the cause & carrier of all diseases. So talking extreme animal welfare what will happen to meat eater human suffering that is caused by these Dr. or experts. If you are worried about germs you may want to look at your own sanitation, refirgeration and cooking procedures. Animals are blessings given to us from God do not disrespect the animal or abuse it needlessly. It doesn't matter if the animals is slaughtered according to the Islamic of Jewish rules or no religious rules at all. Any animal slaughtered wihout being pre-stunned suffers more.

It's a nerve reflex. This—and all the blood—is what freaks most people out; they assume the animal is suffering, and call kosher butchery "cruel". Watch a cow killed instantly—the industrial way—and it'll kick for quite some time, too.
Squeamish folk who've never seen an industrial abattoir are quick to single out this method as cruel.
