My great grandpa served in WW1, in Co D 58th Infantry,4th Infantry Division. He served on the frontlines at Vesle Sector,Toulon Sector,St Mihiel Offensive and Meuse Argonne Offensive. His company were all killed Oct1st 1918 in the forest, and for over 24hrs he was alone and took out 2 machine guns. He was one against hundreds of Germans, then on the night of Oct2nd he was wounded and captured. He was tortured in Rastatt POW Camp for over 2 months. I was finally awarded his Purple Heart this year
God bless this dear man's heart! A whole generation gone now!!! As a Vietnam veteran myself; I have the greatest respect for these great warriors! May God be with you! We salute you!!!
even the last survivor of WWI doesnt like bush!! hahahah. thats how we know he is in his right mind. when he likes bush we know time has taken its toll
ulster2k8 , it only requires a little bit of attention on your part to understand this 107 yo veteran's words...you think you can do it ? HE only risked his life in hellish conditions ...and what did YOU accomplish ? ?
Your comment just made my week. You should be proud. It's terrible he was awarded so late.
