  • 9400gt , 3.1ghz dual core , 2 gb ram, but on full settings ut3 fps lagging..

  • i play it on max settings with:

    core2quad 2.5 ghz

    geforce gt220 1gb ram

    6gb ram

    1680x1050

    40 fps

  • @SciFiMoviePro 40 fps LOL?

  • Your framerate must suck......I have better graphics on UT3

  • shit graphics i have nicer ;p

  • Smooth? Like a baby's bottom?

  • can someone tell me if the demo is there all the weapon to it?

in ut 2004 i see rocket launcher nuke 3 at once, green sticker on ground, lighting gun but short range, plasma gun long range but slow, handgun, 2 handgun, machine gun, shotgun and thats about it. is there all to the weapon? any new weapon in ut 3?

  • can it be maxed out on my pc?

    here are my speecs:

Operating System: Windows Vista home Premium 32 bits

    RAM Memory: 3078Mb

Video Card: GeForce 8600GT 256Mb (not overlocked)

    CPU: Intel Core2 Quad 2.4Ghz (4 processors)

  • this game is not that demanding......goggle system requirements to see...BTW all you need is 1gb of ram lol to max this game out

  • it should run smooth as butter on yours.now if you had a single core processor like me, you'll get lagg like none other.

  • mjtc13:

first of, quad core processors are single processors with 4 cores.

but yeah you should be able to max out UT3 at 1920x1200 (but no AA)

    I have a 2.8 Ghz core 2 duo and a 384Mb 8600gs and i get 30+ fps at 1920x1200 maxed out

  • Wtf? I have a P4 3.2 ghz w/ HT @ 4 ghz and a 256MB eVGA 8600GT and I had to overvolt AND overclock my card just to get around 30 FPS at 1600x1200, plus the settings were minimum.

Perhaps my CPU was bottlenecking, who knows, at 4.2 ghz I guess the game ran well enough though.

  • why did you even bother putting an 8600gt into a p4 system? You could plop in a gtx295 in and you'd probably get maybe 4 extra fps.

With the same graphics card, I got 30fps at lowest settings in UT3 when i was using a single core 2.6ghz OCd ghz athlon 64 (basically an fx-55). Same thing with crysis, I got the same framerates at medium high @ 1920x1200 as I did with 848x480 resolution.

  • Well I'm getting a better card only once I get a better CPU.

There are people who bother to couple a 8800 GTS with a Pentium 4, and it manages to work okay for them.

  • But then that's because the GPU takes SOME load off the CPU.

  • it might "work ok" for them, but they're still not getting 8800gts graphics.

If I were you, I would upgrade your motherboard, get a core 2 duo and 4gb of memory. That will cost ~ $275, and you will be able to run any game on the market buttery smooth.

Then order a case+rom drive+ HDD (~ $100) and use your old p4 hardware to get a complete second system. You just need some free OS (ubuntu?), and an old monitor+ kb/m, then you can set the rig up at your work desk. $375 for 2 brand new PCs.

  • I already have a good mobo socket LGA 775 which I'll be able to use for the core 2 quad but I already have 4 GB of RAM.

The main issue is that I have absolutely none of the money I was intending to save by now and some of it got spent by my parents while they were unknowing it was sent for me from my family so for a couple months I still have to stick with this.

I was going to go for a core 2 quad 1333mhz FSB and I could get up to 1600mhz FSB on this Asus P5KPL-CM mobo.

  • To be honest, in many games the CPU does not make as large a difference as the GPU..

Okay it will bottleneck in physics-intense games but sometimes the difference between a Pentium D and a Core 2 Duo is only ~5 FPS, in games which are much more reliant upon the CPU then yes a 8800 GTS + P4 is a bad combo.

If I could overvolt my CPU though I could probably reach at least 4.5 Ghz or more, effectively reducing more of the bottleneck. My RAM is holding me back I think, but can't change timings.

  • i have intel core2duo 2.00ghz 2gb ram

but i have no graphic card :(

  • i got a Core 2 duo E4500 2.2GHZ each core..

that makes it 4.4GHZ 2 gigs ram 8600GT 512MB VRAM is that good?

  • 2.2Ghz for a dual core doesnt mean 4.4Ghz

8600 is an awesome card. how much system memory do u have?

  • wierd because i have a web site that i check games if it works on my pc its called Can you run it? so its ritten CPU SPEED and its ritten 4.39 GHZ nvm.. and system memory?

what is that ram if ram then i have 2 giga

  • is the card overclocked? i play the demo on full settings and it doesnt look this good or run this smooth. also i dont have full AA on and my 8600gt isnt overclocked

  • no dude - stock clock settings. its on my laptop - I think its got GDDR3 memory. thats why the smoothness.

  • LOL I GOT 512 MB OF RAM AND A 1.8Ghz cpu and it runs just as smooth as this.

but dont get me wrong ur graphics are pretty sweet :)

  • > Boggle1990

"im saying 8800GT runs alot smoother than an 8600GT"

Well, thank-you for stating the obvious.

    To vivekkurup1

Can you please tell me your average FPS for this game? I'm getting laptop with similar specs, cheers.

  • Fraps is showing approx. 40 FPS on high settings

  • what prossesor do you have?

  • Intel Core2Duo T7300 @ 2.00Ghz - 2 GB Ram - Vista home premium

  • i got 8800 =) runs great

  • i luv how u can get such awsome graphics just from a low reccomended requirement =) now if only it was the same for crysis =(

  • i got the 8800 GT =]

  • wow man i am really happy that you got it but we talkign about the 8600gt here if you can read

  • no. were talking about how smooth the graphics are with a 8600GT. and im saying 8800GT runs alot smoother than an 8600GT. so there you have it. im talking about a 8600GT retard.

  • stop going on about your 8800 .. ive got a 8600GTS and that all i need .. i have a 17inch screen and can only go to 1280x1024 and my 8600GTS is fine with that .. not all of us are stupid and buy a super pc that can run games on super high res and a super big screen .. what a waste .. its just as fun on 1280x1024

  • lol. i apologize jaspi. for being fortunate enough and working hard enough to beable to buy one. call it stupidity if u like. but money was made to be spent.

  • make a longer video than this there is little to judge by.

  • 8600GT runs this game epically. Just bought a laptop with 8600GT and 2GB Ram +1GB intel turbo card and i maxxed out UT3 also and it runs fantastic, and looks great.

  • Hey, I have a 7950GT Gainward. How well would it run UT 3?

  • it will run great and smooth trust me

  • yea i'm running PNY 7600GT 256mb and it runs UT3 Really nice :P.. But it's now time to upgradate my system so i'm gonna buy a 8600GT and a new CPU :P don't really know wy i didin't buy me new stuff before when i had the chance, don't really know why :P.. Oo and yea i'll runn great :)

  • Awesome. I'm hopefully getting an Inspiron this xmas. And I can't wait to play these games >=)

  • Dude, your gettin a Dell, I'm sorry.

  • Haha. Yeah, that's what a few people told me as well... xD

  • Hey Im getting an inspiron 1720 with specs good enough to play these games at max.

Whats wrong with dells? They cant be worse than acers/toshiba?

  • fuck brands ....build ur own pc ...like me ;) itll cost less and be hella faster

  • Well thats what dell lets you do basically.. With a large range of hardware :)

  • ...its less expensive and more fun if u do it urself

  • Mine cost less than $2000 :p

  • mine cost less than 700$ and i can run crysis on medium with EXTREME Smoothness

  • oh yeah? mine costs less than $70 and I can run super mario bros at an 8x8 resolution

  • lucky bastard. i can only run mario world 3 on mine =[

  • lol

  • Build your own, Dell are way over priced.

  • Yea thats wat i did :D Works awesome!!

  • What are your nVidia Control Panel settings?

  • everything set to "application controlled" and texture filtering set to "quality"

  • is that an 8600 or an 8800

  • 8600 GT , on my dell inspiron laptop.

256MB onboard - shares upto 1GB system memory

  • flippin nice graphics.. shame about shitty fraps though lol
