sounds good but it amazes me how many people have stopped playing bass as a bass sound and play the high end of it. its more like its played as a slightly deeper electric guitar or normal guitar.. I mean its cool but to me if you want to play bass it should be as deep as possible or why not just pick up a normal electric or electric acoustic and play that way

@jaratt85 Can't slap a guitar, and jazz is fun to play on bass. You need those high strings on a bass. That's like saying you should take off the first three strings on a guitar because it should "be as high as possible."

I just like bass to play the role of bass sound not another electric, nothing to do with the number of strings

@jaratt85 I hear ya. But every instrument can be experimented with, and people didn't realize what a bass was capable of until Entwistle began experimenting with it, so there's still a lot to learn. Every instrument has its typical role that it fits into, like the bass always being the rhythm; but the reality is all instruments are unique in some way and the musician can determine what role an instrument plays.

@ArmyOfWalrus case in point I dont play rythym at all, even when Im playing the eagles I naturally take a more... not necessarily lead but a more active role, and when I play stuff like slipknot to the cd, I take a very active fast role that right with the guitars and sometimes exceeding them, I guess you could say machine gun bass. Playing slipknot I tend to stick to the B&E strings and just move around a lot and play fast. I play what Paul did but add a lot more into it as well

@TheFrogman112 every Ritter is different. sure the body style looks the same, but absolutely everything else the buyer picks what they want, they din't just walk in and say i want a Ritter, you get a booklet type of thing and you choose everything from the stain on the body to what kind of electronics you want

@JackClassical It's how they got the "stereo" effect, otherwise it would sound like it was coming from straight in front of you, and it wouldn't have the same feeling. They recorded it once, then doubled the tracks and panned one track to the right and one track to the left and then added delay and maybe a bit of reverb to the left track, so it sound like 2 people are playing, one from your right and one from your left.
