Ummmm, doing some random anime searches on youtube, and this blew me away! But judging by the comments...........none of this footage is in the final product. What gives? I am super confused. I don't think /any/ of these scenes were in the movie; funnily enough, the 2nd trailer was more accurate, since it was made up of scenes that were actually in the movie.

However, I hear that Cencoroll 2 is in the making, so I'm hoping that the scenes in /this/ trailer will be used eventually. After all, most of the animation, story, design and such were created by one man, and with all the hard work he put into it, It'd be a waste if he just threw away the scenes he made for this trailer. 8I

I read somewhere that it was originally going to be a full movie, with a proper animation studio working on it.

But then it got cancelled (Yeah, I know...), but one guy picked it up, and made it all himself.

So I don't know, but I'm guessing that this trailer was from the movie planned, but which got cancelled, which is why none of these scenes appeared in the movie.

@Meepmariokartwii It turns out that, although this was supposedly a "trailer", this was in fact the pilot footage, the "original short film from 2007" that I spent ages looking for unsuccessfully. This explains why a lot of the footage seen in this trailer was not in the actual OVA released in 2009. However, there's a Cencoroll 2 coming, so hopefully they use some of the concepts from this trailer in the new movie. I think the stuff in this trailer was too epic to fit in the "origin story" OVA.

Since it's a part of anime innovation tokyo's scheme, it'll definitely havehave a screening before being released to dvd, so by that definition it can't be an OVA. That isn't to say however, that it's going to be feature-length. After all it is being made by a small animation studio. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's more than half an hour in length.
