this is nice,,,did you do the work or did you buy it this way ? i have always thought thes engines look alot like the old vacuum cleaners ,,its a great design ,,,
It's really easy, especially if you use a carb and distributor. Just need a pre-'86 front cover and a GSL-SE oil pan. Then you have to account for the front of the engine being 20mm further forward. The easiest way is to get a Racing Beat front mount bar. You'll also need to ether modify the stock fan shroud to fit or convert to an electric fan, and the exhaust will have to be modified/replaced. Depending on the carb, you'll probably need a different fuel pump and pressure regulator, too.
Other than that, it basically drops straight in. If it's an '83-85, it has the crappy "beehive" oil cooler. While it's possible to use a beehive with a 13B with some modification, it's better to swap to a front-mount oil cooler from an earlier or later rotary car.
This setup never made it to a dyno. I'd estimate 150 or 160 WHP. Problem was that my exhaust was too small. It would have been better if it were collected into 2.5" or even 3".
hmmm this engine plus ae86...about how much hp nd tq would u say this makes?

I bought the car bone stock with a dead 12A. Everything that's been done to it since then was done by either me or my cousin.

@PercentSevenC the beehive is ok if your not racing your car. it'll do the job. but the front mount is definately better.
