My Lands of Lore CD got scratched up in my CD caddy and I could never play it past the return to gladstone.

Years later I managed to play the diskette version but was surprised at the differences such as not being able to save Timothy in that version.

Also, Conrad's full head with mullet at the ending made me scream for some reason.

Ak´shel VS Giant bees can cast easily rank 4 ice spell and kill them all!, he can cast rank 4 heal lots of times during combat, and dont say AK´shel is shit if u dont know how to play, being Bacata one of those who have more HP as Paul, just turn the camara in combat making AK´shel facil wall and bacata/paul facing the enemis so hewont get atacked! Dont talk crap if u dont know how to play it! PS: Ak´shel VS Scotia is like having a walk in the garden! BB all! great movie and game!

I did ended Lands of Lore 4 times, 2 with Ak´shel, 1 with Michael, 1 with Conrad and me and my brother were trying to end with Kieran but its to damm hard, we got to the last level of the Ghost tower! how can u sai Ak´shel is a shit? Ak´shel has rank4 spark at begining who can simply kill the 2 guys protecting the Cave, and with Ak´shel u can use the green skull to kill the giant worm at the mine entrence for example in like 3 secs, continuing! low on characters left...

The midi sounds best on a Sound Canvas. And contrary to what someone else here said, you can get Soundblaster sound effects along with GM music. You need the CD-ROM version for that though.

Everything was so magical about it: the old kind of graphics, the long adventure and the cool music.

This is game is so good, that i play it even today, every year or so.

I like the MIDI better myself, problem is it won't allow the soundblaster sound effects when using MIDI like other games do, which I think kind of sucks.

Is the CD required to play the game? Is there a way to run the game by copying all files to the hard drive so you wouldn't have to use the CD to play?

They just don't make games like this anymore. I never get sick of this game. To this day, I'll still play it all the way through about once or twice a year. It has so many great cutscenes and I love the music and ambiance of the whole thing.

I totally agree... even with today's 3D graphics such atmosphere cannot be created, or we just grew old, and such games as this brings back sweet memories :)

3D graphics are usually overrated and in most games they just give things a cartoonish look anyway. And I'll admit that using live action sequences in this game seems a bit silly, but hardly anyone does it anymore, so I can appreciate it just for that. And besides, the live action scenes are well done anyway. Especially I like the ones with Brother Julian.

Rapier the best weapon at start believe me...go to the caves kill the guys and sell the stuff you find there then buy the rapier helps until you reach the castle

DosBox has a built-in recorder, but some games wont work with it. I wanted to make an Ultima Underworld Gameplay video but it doesnt record correctly and destroys itself. I will continue this movie with the forest which follows directly. Gimme some time...
