@need4peace No sir , although I agree that the phrase is mostly used to denote an individual but it is not reserved for such use only, secondly the words are not specific , the meaning is vague, it reads " Raste ka kanta hatana" not marna so the police cant do any thing as " hatana" does not necessarily mean the guy will KILL the Raste Ka kanta . Thirdly newspapers back then would publish an AD for guaranteed baldness removal oil without thinking twice so its not so strange.
@need4peace Actually its not the cycle bell but the bell being modified to work as a mini crossbow , so the Poison tipped Gramophone needle is used as an arrow...but yes it is strange how the guy aimed the thing and from where did it get all that energy to travel fast enough to enter someone's body who is standing at reasonable distance, you would require gunpowder for that kind of momentum.
@Galavya41 Byomkesh bakshi to me 'now', looks pretty ordinary!! It used to scare the shit out of me when it first came on DD when I was a kid but not anymore. But its still better than the CID crap :D The acting, the simplicity and stuff is quite remarkable. Some of the episodes are missing I guess on youtube??
@need4peace Well this is what age does to us . I used to think greatly of Batman & Superman , even HeMan but now its not that great, I mean I still like to watch a batman cartoon or movie but that craze is no more. Yes Byomkesh was a very well thought of series and the mesmerising simplicity is a trademark of Basu Chatterjee, in all his films you will find this natural simplicity which never lets the movies get old. Try watching films like Chhoti Si Baat & Dillagi on youtube
@need4peace Arrey!! Na ! Na!...I mean the Dharmendra , Hema starrer Dillagi directed by our beloved BasuDa . Try searching "Dillagi 1978 movie" I'm sure DharamJi has uploaded the entire film on his channel.
@need4peace Ha..Ha..I am a film student and absolutely love the work of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee , these guys gave us a new kind of film that was a mix of an Art movie and a Bollywood masala flik, their new form is known as Middle Cinema and you will find this style only in India , the Byomkest serial is also an example of this style of film making...and no Dillagi has been uploaded by DharamJi( as in Dharmendra) himself .
@Galavya41 is there an age bar to get into some of these acting schools??? Bengal is synonymous with art and culture so I like most of the things that come out of it...Im not a bengali but I like bengal...u are a bengali am sure?? you should be so proud of yourself!!
@need4peace As far as I know there is no age bar, but I am a film student that is I study Screenwriting and Direction . Well I am not a Bengali but I was born and raised in Bengal , so you can say I am about 50% Bengali :-)....I think our entire country is a living museum of Art & Culture , on the outside the culture and art of different parts appears to be different but still there is a strange underlying similarity which makes it uniquely Indian.
I know bengalis love tea but here they are drinking like 56 cups of tea per episode per person...How much tea can a man drink and how much tea can a production house afford?? this is pretty funny...
@kishorekumar1929 sir kile ka rahasaya , the investiagator ( anukul babu lodge) and gramphone pin mystery is not available . sir will be greatful if you could pls upload the same thanks a ton sir
i agree with Home TV ...these are the episodes we havent spotted anywhere ...plzz plz uplaod them !! even this episode , where are the remaining parts :( ...waiting !!
Thanks a lot Rintu Ji for uploading such a nice episode of Byomkesh bakshi one of the best detective serials of DD's golden era. Would be happy to see the rest part also. Thanking u in advance. Keep up the good work.
Full episode anyone? ???

which god damn news paper in the world allows some random person to advertise contract killing in its paper. Looks so silly now...
need4peace 1 month ago
@need4peace Well the wordings are so vague that no one can say it IS for killing. Raste ka Kanta could mean any obstacle one is facing in life.
Galavya41 1 month ago
@Galavya41 From where I come from, raaste ka kanta usually refers to a person!!! You must be from Sri lanka???

@Galavya41 Ok agreed! But please don't say that killing someone by blowing a cycle horn is possible?
