  • I am so luck to have him as my Great, Great, Great grandfather :)

  • what did we learn....

  • The emotions are projected so well that do not need words!

  • The first clip; Best western brawl/melee fight ever filmed. Just saying.

  • @otochari Not to knock our boys in uniform though. They're the closest thing we got, and they're a heck of a lot better at it than we are. But I would plead that those who have gone through the USMC sniper school probably have skills comparable to the natives.

  • Man, me and my dad watch this movie at least once a month, and the weird thing is that I never get tired of this. I'm only 16, but man this movie is fricken amazing. You know what I'm sayin.

  • compare this to batman begins: man searches for truth and goes into the mountains and is trained by "the old man of the mountain" and becomes an assassin.

look into hassan i sabbah ..

this movie is an allegory just as mush as night of the hunter.

  • I bet he was tired of playing the pretty boy all the time.

  • Robert Redford's best performance for my taste. Makes any man wanna grow a beard! Brilliant movie- based on a true story, fantastic.

  • @GreatRecordings Ya I loved this movie I thought it was exeelntly made and very real life like.

  • @Rs2Rules couldnt agree more

  • So this is what the Sundance Kid is calling himself after he made it out of Bolivia

  • he says you fish poorly

  • I like how the landscape is a character in itself. And the guy never seems to hate the indians.

  • great film. Bear Finger

  • I read the paperback "Crow Killer" before I saw the movie.

Kinda like "True Grit" and "First Blood"... it stayed pretty close to the paper.

They tell us at the first of the movie that he had seen war... and wanted nothing more to do with it.

Obviously, he was really good at it or a very fast learner.

Ain't even close to being tired of it.

Masterpiece! (And, it was "shelved" for a year or two before release!)

If you can spell independent film, you can spell Sundance... and the need for such.

  • its hard to believe that Americans were this tough and independent.

  • 3:46 i meant

  • Jeremiah's war scream at 3:36 is more badass that Arnold's in Predator

  • How did that happen at 2:32 ? hahahahaha

  • @Rs2Rules I couldn't say or write it ant better. Amen!

  • 1 of the best frontier movies of all time

  • Why was the old west always better for a man than a woman? Don't want the answer to that question, about all we have of the old west is a very few movies and our imagination. If you have this movie ,keep it!!!

  • my father named me Jeremiah after this movie ^_^

  • this guy is a badass

  • @Cod4Ipod Yeah and he was a REAL man who lived as a mountain man. I have a man like that...1/3 Apache 2/3 musles and bad ass when he has to be to survive. All men should watch and learn whatever it takes. The world is getting bad ass too. Happy Hunting Grounds!

  • @rite4real1 The world is not getting badass. The world is weakening. As long as we keep increasing our technology that which increases the ease in surviving we will lose the natural common knowledge and common sense needed to survive. We are weakening ourselves as we progess in technology. There will be a day where no man or woman will be able to survive the Wild because will be spoiled by our technology.

  • Thumbs up if you want to see a remake starring Zach Galifianakis

  • @Frojoemorrison That would be one of the funniest movie remakes of all time! hahah

  • Jeremiah Johnson might be the best movie I've seen in my 54 years.......and I've seen quite a few

  • WHATS THIS MOVIE CALLED LOOKS GOOD NEVER SEEN IT

  • @davidtomthompson Jeramiah Johnson

  • One of my favorite movies, before there computer animation, when stunts were real. Utah, spent some time there, miss it.

  • What a film! It’s the impression left by such graceful and eloquent filmmaking that makes J. Johnson an unforgettable film. J.Johnson is a simple story about a man's struggle to survive. Despite anachronisms, a few factual & geographic errors, this film is great and unique in its emotional intensity. Not much dialogue but just enough to be carried away by this touching movie. The silences are so expressive, they speak for themselves without any word. R.R is excellent as well as the other actors.

  • The movie is not accurate..he never made peace with the Crow...he went on to become the Sheriff of Cody Wyoming and one day gunned down three Crows for just being there..he hated them...

  • @raginroadrunner wouldn't you?

  • Not a word, but all is understood.

  • Awesome !!!! i love this movie!

Jeremiah Johnson is my hero <3

  • an adulterous people. adulterous!

  • Have to admire the crow for coming one at a time mano-a-mano. I have no I idea how literally true any of this is, but it would indicate a highly honorable culture.

  • Leave a masterpiece alone. No Brad Pitt. No remake. Let us still enjoy one of the last of the great movies that was ever made.

  • Best "silent" film ever. So little dialogue. Great acting/cinematography....there will never be another one like it.

  • @hskrfnatic quest for fire?

  • @hskrfnatic oh no way . I sooo agree and have seen it almost every time it comes my way. I am Hawaiian and we live the same principals and tribal style as they do ,so I love both sides of the story. Good and bad men is all there is...any where.

  • check out Teton Todd's Mountain Adventures by clicking in my name....

  • Robert can put his boots under my bed any time!

  • epic film just watched it last saturday

  • I think Pitts beard could hold it's own. He is the direct descendant of the mountain man Jim Bridger after all.

  • When is a sequel going to take place? Brad Pitt as is son, a possible great movie to follow up a great movie!!!!

Please pass on So Robert Redford can hear this...

  • They couldn't answer his beard.

  • One of the best filmed and acted scenes ever.

Not much faking or special effects here.

  • amazing... fucking movie

  • soundtrack is on ebay

  • Damn that is a classic fight scene. It's so calm and eerie with the elk bugles in the background, but you can feel the intensity before the fight.
