I think the Snitch would be heavier than 1 gram and have sturdier wings that beat 10 times faster like in the movie.
Then again the Snitch is magical, so it could weigh nothing at all!

Does anyone know the micro electric motor used on this ornithopter? I am trying to make my own, and cannot find a motor small enough yet. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Some small models use the vibrate motors from mobile phones or pagers...not taken many cell phones apart, however Nokia ones look like what you need.

good luck...shame we threw a large number of pagers away recently at work that had similar.
It uses the Shicoh 3.2mm Pager Motor that you can only get from here h t t p : // indoor-airplane-world. com/?pid=5629793

@mattfishca There are these little rc cars called zip zaps that radio shack sold for a while that use that size motor or it looks like any ways.

Unfortunately that's where i had to end the clip as it ended there anyway. It would have been nice to have seen it fly in the room longer!
