This is so beautiful. I saw this on television ages ago and have been trying to find it ever since (I couldn't remember the name of the hotel). What an amazing version of this very beautiful song. I watched the show in awe - some of the most amazing music I've heard in a long time. Love your work Mark - so glad I finally found this!!!

Classy and polished. I haven't heard this version and was blown away. Mark, if you ever release a 'Country' version along with a few slide guitar accents - I see some serious air-time on US radio. Great work.

Delicate, sublime, profound....real musician's performing a real song. Superbly guided at the helm by a vocalist who knows how to navigate his way through the peaks and troughs of a well written song with masterclass ease. Get back in the studio Mark....we need some more of this. How about a TV show similar to Jules Holland with you as host introducing and performing alongside some new and established artists.

Love Mark in the 70's, stil love him now. Mark has alway's been great.... I remember he had to cancel years ago, making an apperance at WALTON"s Bankstown 1975? I fainted ....... I was aged 14! I still would love to hear him sing live now...

Mark Holden has always been my idol. He was my hero back in the 70s and still is. I have followed him my whole life. I still have his old records lol. He was even in a movie many years ago, and a tv series here in OZ. He was a brilliant actor too.

Why does everyone give him so much shit he is actually a really good singer/composer i also agree with dxxkelly. Theres nothing wrong with him its just that aus idol gives him a bad reputation like seriously come on if you were listening to some of that shit when your at his level it would get very very frustrating and annoying. I was never been a devoted fan of Mark and unfortunately he became involved with a grubby TV talent quest series in recent years. I would have to say that this rendition of "Shine" is powerful and demonstrates the high quality of Australian talent. My recommendation to Mark would be to get rid of Network 10 and its rubbish and concentrate on building his music career. He is getting old like John Farnham but Australia needs this type of music. Good luck Mark and thanks for "Shine".
